A beg to differ on some parts, especially about Android not being smooth. Anyone here should try CM7 on the Nexus to know how smooth Android can really be. One thing Android has going is the continuous development by ROM devs and Google releasing the source for all the new versions of Android. Not to mention the manufacutrers really starting to get behind the Open Source community, especially Samsung and LG. Android devices today are insanely powerful. Just look at the speed of SGS2. I compared it to my old Milestone running CM7 and the Milestone actually held it's own ok (considering it only has about a 1/4 of the power of the SGS2) and this bodes well for Android users. iOS will always have Apple forcing users to buy new hardware to enjoy the new features at insane prices when on Android, most of them can be had for free or a fraction of the cost. Sure it's not as tightly integrated as iOS, but i-devices are pretty much i-diot proof devices for the mass market. All the stats show that Android will be the dominant force in the future. The best evidence of this is iOS 5 itself, which blatantly and unashamedly copies  many standard Android UI concepts and elements. iOS won't be dead anytime soon as Apple traps it's consumers in their environment forcing them to continue using their devices or risk losing their precious data.

i think that's exactly the point.
normal users won't be bothered to try out each and every ROM releases, they have much better things to do.
and in many cases, ROMs by the community are not always perfect and are quite buggy.
this is not a problem if u r a geek who loves to play with ur phone all the time.

on the other hand when u buy apple, the company does all the optimizations for you so the user does not have to be concerned and bothered.
a team of high skilled software and hardware experts combine to give you the perfect magical experience.
in other words, It Just Works.

looks like u got a reject batch. 1st batch of phones (usually) have defects, hence they have 2nd,3rd etc batch to improve their h/w

still unsure either going for maxis with 24months contract or not... still cannot determine what are the penalty incurred if we breach the contract... really impatient to get the phone but a lot of things still unsure (no doubt about the phone) just the packages makes me think more than 3times either to sign up or not...

For those who choose not to use a Screen Protector, this might be a good product to use. According to a few reviews i've seen, it gets rid of oil and smudges easily and will give a coating that prevents fingerprints and repels dust (because of the anti-static properties). Thinking of getting it but need to get it from ebay.

i actually preordered from one seller in lowyat forum last week with deposit of rm 60...he assured me that i will receive it 2 days ago...
supposed to collect it on wed, even applied half day leave, but he sms-ed me saying that his staff sold my unit to someone else...
really such a joke...then what is the point of depositing my cash and SMSing him everyday to ensure he keeps my unit...no proper management and unprofessional...sigh

i read in the web that sgs2 is capable of making video calls out of the box. someone in this thread also said he can make a video calls with nokia etc, means cross-platform 3g video calls is available out of the box. is it true? or do i need to do some modifications in able to do this? (like root, install somthing etc) because i seems cant make the video calls with my fren who r using sony ericsson...

Hi i wanna enquire, i'm planning to buy my friend a samsung galaxy S II for his birthday. The glass is gorilla display right(means hard to crack?), What applications should i ask the samsung store guy to install? For SGSII, it's good enough without root. The phone is fast as well. Don't need custom rom and don't need root. 90% of the apps doesnt need it.
