Hi All,

I just bought a new condo, located on the 1st floor, my family is worried about my safety because my unit is very easily accesible/get break in through the windows(a lot of windows!) I initially refused to install grill because i don't like the aluminium grill, it makes me feel like in a jail. But, i agree with my family that, i should install something for extra security, even though there is condo security.

I was advised to look for invisible grill, so taht it won't look visible from far.

May i have your advice/contacts to get these invisible grill?

Thanks in advance icon_rolleyes.gif

I also saw that in my client house, when i want to open window, my hand is not able to go thru the grill, even yes, also very dificult. If talking about "secure", yes that is more secure compare to no grill, but still not so hard to cut it actually.

Another option for you is to put tinted film that is stronger and design against light burglary. That said, some are bullet proof too but they don't come cheap. The problem with this is while it is a deterrence it is not visually clear to the thieves.

I was toying with this when I changed my sliding doors as I didn't want to have unsightly grill too.

but the frame & lock must also be reenforced else no point...

cause most alu window frame use a screw to fix to the swing handle..

if a thief put a screw driver and "kiau" pry sure open then ur thick temper glass also no use

The thick material is very solid. Need proper installer. You seen the reliance windows? There is another version with UPVC very expensive, during the fair i ask about RM 80 - 90 per sqft.

Well, i guess that not only expensive at the window, removing existing window and install new window with all the hacking and plaster are also very costly.

Ah, that one not expensive lah, i read somewhere here he/she was quoted few hundred only. Maybe Condo is difference cause the wall are pre-build, and need special skill people. Also permission to change.

Invisible grill is only to prevent small kids from climbing over. It does not prevent breaking in. The wires can be easily cut. sad.gif
It is also over price..
