Just audited this black vios... (rushing, gf keep calling tongue.gif )
using alpine w502 + H800 processor
Flux third level component set and rockford amp...

To my surprise, although the equipments is not top notch
but with thorough and careful installation & tuning, its simply amazed me
As usual, Flux speaker always sound so crispy, bright yet not harsh.
Not a fans of current RF, but this time they didnt fail my expectation... carry out the job quite well

The accurate staging and dept, enhance the pleasure while listening music in car
Tonality are well control, whether yelling/shouting/murmuring...
Its still clear and not ear piercing... apparently, great job on crossover/time alignment setting
hence neither cancellation nor peak issue happen in this ride
For the record, Tuner only touch one eq band... shocking.gif

The ICE system was initially done in singapore
then passed over to Famous Audio (JB) for another round of touch up
They strengthen the installation, with new handcrafted a-pillar and tuning...
comes up with remarkable result...

Last but not least, Icer don't just spend whole budget on hi-end stuff
but kedekut on installation, as equipment only occupy 30% of your overall performance
The remaining 70% are from installation + tuning...
with proper tuning and install, even entry level ice can sound great
vice versa, 100k equipment can sound like shit (audited many example actually tongue.gif )

Zac, that H800 looks very interesting to play with using software in pc! biggrin.gif how does the sound of H800+C800 compared to the older H701+C701 combo?

to be honest... i don't see any significant difference in terms of sq...
it sounded quite smooth in this car, but i also audited 701 that performed very well
so really no comment at the moment, maybe i able to find the difference after few more audit in different car biggrin.gif

Have you by any chance experienced the Imprint auto-tune of this H800? Does it share similar fate with the 9887 Imprint tuneup whereby the Subwoofer sounded very soft? I have run multiple times the Imprint tuneup on my 9887, and it's a common issue that the sub amp gain must be increased post Imprint tuning. Same issues encountered by most ppl.

I don't know how you would think about it but if he use old RF Power series, it may sound better.... Or you take too much heroin already and you can't get use to ganja.........
Seriously, tech spec for H800 are quite strong already, AD' Sharc DSP.....

if you looking at the spec, ya...
but if you talk about sound, dunno yet...
how do you compare this two processor with different set up?
you will only know if they were tested on the same setup by hearing the outcome, no?

Well, most of the people knows that RF's quality are going down to drain for the recent models.
2nd, the speakers shoot the wrong angle, which will affect the overall performance also.
Each speakers got different sweetest spot depending on the cabin size(internal volume), placement and the enclosure made for them....
I may get a set of Focal Be and with such placement, I will get rubbish results....

Bro, i can assure you this is not wrong angle, and it will not affect overall performance biggrin.gif
In fact, its a solution to enhance the staging width and depth, good for car with shallow dashboard
Placement and enclosure volume are calculated before making it...
The keypoint here is "balance" thats why performance was not affected.
Don't straight away jump to the conclusion while seeing off axis design. smile.gif

You can definitely get Focal BE, and with such placement, you might get rubbish result
if not tuning it properly, or don't understand the overall concept...
but with proper tuning and power (BE is good, but big eater) it will be very nice

As for RF quality issue... blush.gif
sigh...

If i come down, I sure will let you know....
I prefer dome because it is omnidirection..... That's the advantage(and disadvantage) as you need to consider reflections. So placement will be bigger challange....

hehehe... there is a reason for that...
nobody likes big pillar, but it has a huge advantage...
if it doesnt, tuner won't bother to make such a big volume, waste money & time

based on my puny exp...
its easier for dome mid to sound normal, as its only facing directional issue
but doesn't need big enclosure volume...
however lack of lower extension, can't cross low
cone mid facing more hassle
not only reflect issue, also need bigger volume to perform
after comparing two types of speaker
cone mid more suits my listening style laugh.gif

Well, that's why speaker selection are important, and also another reason why I like Madisound.....
I can choose a midrange with low FS value.....
