Hi michealck1838, I can't really comment about the prices as I am not a contractor myself.
tomjason would have a better picture as he is virtually the contractor himself and has compiled a "formula".
My only advice is make time to check up yourself during WIP and make sure the contractor is a rich guy (at least then he will be less likely to rrun in to cash-flow problem negatively affecting his projects completion). smile.gif

I will say I paid too much. cry.gif
I don't state the total amount but some members come to a pretty good conclusion in this topic.
As for the contractor, If you follow this topic, you will know that I will not recommend him. vmad.gif
I has to do a lot of balance work and repairs my self as he "disappear" after collecting full payment. mad.gif
A lesson there for everyone. rclxub.gif
Thanks for the compliment. nod.gif

For my case, I also din really record down in details and the contractor did sent me the invoice regarding the work. Some more he overcharge me with some item charge twice and lucky I noticed but already over paid him for what he had completed. Then I go through again with him and he agreed with the overcharge. Since then he disappear and I have to get someone else to take care the rest. Lesson learn always have your own checklist and keep track it yourself instead of the invoice.

Mine was better no over charge. I did not rush his work, he did not rush me for payment. Quality wise after one year of staying. I will say it can be better. I have some minor leaking issue now, but he can't come immediate, now got to wait till weekend hope he come. At least he answer my call.

Thinking to do my own repair.

It seems you ended up with the better contractor.
At least he complete the job, no overcharge and still respond when you call.

Better from what we here around Lowyat, but I feel he can do better job. Furthermore why do my concerete slab having hairline crack. Comparing to the olden days contractor don't have this problem and never required water proofing.

Renovation Extreme Work In Progress - Second Stage tongue.gif

After living in my house for a year without cabinets, finally I decided to take the plunge.
Decided to install Cabinets.
I employed the same guy that supplied my altar because I like their handiwork.
As those who follow this thread will know, when I start , budget is tanked again doh.gif
This time, I think I went a bit overboard (financially and design wise). shocking.gif
So here goes :- sweat.gif

The cabinet parts arrive,1 full lorry :-

The cabinets unloaded and ready to be installed
