I am about to finish my renovation so i want to share a funny/irritating (depend on your perspective) about my experience. My neighborhood has quite a number of cats. So during renovation, they seem to like to hang around because of the availability of sand. So far I have stepped on their poo at least 3 times and each time it stunk like hell especially when I left the house into my car! Not only that, during renovation, the house has some openings that they will roam into the house and have parties there. So I see their foot print on my sofa. Worse, at one time I left my packed dinner on my coffee table and went out temporarily and went back to discover that food were scattered all over the floor! mad.gif

At night, they stayed in my big tong sampah and seems to have orgies there (with the noises that they made) rclxub.gif

I was so angry that I swore to kill one of them one day! biggrin.gif

My renovation story really frustrating.

One sentence: "slow as snail, no sense of urgency. "

The contractor seemed to drag me until a week before I moved in, the finishing touches not yet done (minor touchup on poor paintjob etc). THe same lame excuse ... workers busy, only able to work on my house on weekends.

Didn't inform me when got problem. Only I spot check and find out certain things not right (like fan not functioning), they said "will fix it soon".

Talking bout fan problem (remote control cant turn it on), keep denying its his worker problem, and said the fan must be faulty. I paid the fan technician to come and found out its a SMALL problem, the worker installed the fan but forgot to expose the sensor). There goes my $50 paid to fan technician for a simple diagnostic.

Didn't let me know when he needs $$$ progressively (seldom gets call from him for weeks). Only when I spot check again and find out progress slow, I take initiative to give him more $$$ , and only then work resume.

The final payment is VERY FUNNY indeed. Since he's slow, I tell him I want faster settle with him and take back my keys (I do the final touch up myself) .

Met someplace near his house.. I give him the final payment (in cash) and he give me receipt and my keys , then turn around and walk away. HE DIDN'T COUNT THE $$$ . Then I ask him to count the $$ in front of me to ensure its correct (to avoid misunderstanding), he did it and then that's the last I seen of him.
