Guys, need an opinion here. I'm thinking to jump to 754 platform. I'm thinking about AMD64 3000. Here at my place, it got CAA2C stepping. is this a good one, or just a normal one?

QUOTE(davidletterboyz @ Jan 15 2006, 02:04 AM) Sorry, i can't tell from that extract. But what's the rest saying? Thanks, I do remember it has LBBWE written on it? will this info any good? And according to here its venice. Will this do good on oc?For sempron64: SDA2500AIO3BX Look for that BX at the back. New batch of A64 S754 with 90nm should have that "BX" at the back. Previous A64 S754 has AR, AX, AP etc. |

QUOTE(soulfly @ Jan 15 2006, 10:23 AM) CAA2C sounded like NewCastle.... Thanx for the info n links guys. Is it worth the price ( RM480.00 ) to buy?AFAIK, this was a pretty famous stepping for 130nm Athlon64 because the A64FX would use this stepping Try search CAA2C on Google/Yahoo I've found these: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showth...88&page=1&pp=25 http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3943 http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=468771 |

Hmm... thanx guys. But, if it truly venice, will it be overclocker's gem? The guys ( from the link ) bought it and its the same as the one i'm going to buy. CPU-Z do recognize it as venice tho.

can anybody guide me here? I'm planning to jump to 754 platform and dunno which mobo to buy. As far as i know, you will onli see sempron64 advantages after overclocking. on stock speed, it's on par or only slightly better than barton on socket A ( correct me if i'm wrong here ).
I need to know b4 purchase; which mobo should i buy for oc'ing 2800 sempey? any particular sempey stepping need to watch? Thanx in advance... |

QUOTE(davidletterboyz @ Jan 21 2006, 09:50 AM) 2.6-2.7G "only"? Hehhee... tq davidletterboyz, for fast reply. btw, y u terkezut 2.6-2.7? izzit too high or izzit too low?Anyways....if AGP, DFI Lanparty UT nF3 250Gb. But quite pricey...and if I heard it doesn't like Hynix rams when u use divider. The next choice should be Abit NF8 and MSI K8N Neo. The MSI is discontinued...so, Abit is the only choice. * may i know wat bios u use in ur nf7 rig? i cant hit 2.5G with prime stable with mine. Thankx sifu's for the infos. now lemme compile it.
1. Im stuck wif Abit NF8 mobo, since i'm thight on budget, agp thingy and hynix D-43 ram. 2. Wif s64, average / most of 2800+ can hit 2.4G 3. Batch doesnt come in play in terms of overclockabilities; as long as M is the 3rd letter on the stepping, it's good to go. 4. S64 "Made in China" not having a good reputation among oc'ers. 5. make sure the 6 letter stepping ended wif BX. ( this is correct, right?) Comparing s64 wif amd64 on sc754, which one will perform better in term of oc n performance? Thanx all; sifu's n guru's ... |

"the v2 uses nf3 250 chipset instead nf3 250gb. therefore, no gb lan and firewall." |

just got my nf8 and s64 2800. sadly, it's "Made in China" one, with LBBWE 0545. Now, the technical question, how do i change the multiplier? right now, i only using clockgen, and able to bump the htt to 310 at 1.52v. FSB:DRAM is CPU/10 at cpu-z. really noobie in this sc754 oc.
