Yeah, nothing's suprising here. Only S64 3000+ above is half multiplier unlock able....like normal A64.

Latest S754 A64(not S64) is Venice. 512kB L2.

The first line of stepping ends is X. X = 90nm and SSE3, like S64 Palermo.

It's all about luck. A good mobo with bad CPU (e.g. bad memory controller) won't bring u anywhere. The current world record for 2800+ is using Epox mobo with BT-D43 rams.

Look for that BX at the back. New batch of A64 S754 with 90nm should have that "BX" at the back. Previous A64 S754 has AR, AX, AP etc.

Well, sempron64 has LBBWE but I don't know if A64 S754 90nm has it.

I don't know if it's good to o/c, but it should be at least better than Newcastle i think.

The score is a bit low. Maybe u need new drivers? Someone in XS got almost the same score with 6200 moded to 6600.

My s2500+ has been sitting in my drawer for a week already. Haven't get a mobo...

The screenshot in that thread only shows CPU-Z. Maybe not benchable?
Anyways....I think only 3 mobos are capable to reach that HTT. DFI, Abit and Epox, although it's a bit hard on Abit. But I've seen 380HTT with NV8....the northbridge is water cooled.

Well, u must at least know what's ur target hehe. Don't tell us u want 3Ghz lar. Then, u need PCI-E or AGP mobo?
Stepping......I think the only one I can confirm is 0528UPMW. I have seen 3 CPUs with this stepping (including Cyclone87's), all hitting high frequency. But I doubt u can find it now....most Semprons now are Assembled in China and starts with 0539+. Btw, Assembled in China doesn't mean it's not good. I've seen most S754 Venice hitting 3Ghz+ are assembled in China.

The next choice should be Abit NF8 and MSI K8N Neo. The MSI is discontinued...so, Abit is the only choice.

All three alphabets are assembled in China. Mine is 0538GAD from D@rk, not yet tested. But i think it's not very o/cable since he doesn't show screenshot or what.

What CPU r u using? If lower it's than sempron 3000+, can't change multiplier.

Heard there is a shop called ATE selling Biostar Tforces.

IMHO, you need around 300MHz to 400Mhz to offset your single channel and 256kB L2 disadvantages.

Dual channels will give 5%-10% performance boost. Bigger L2 cache will give another 5-10%.
