Yeah, nothing's suprising here. Only S64 3000+ above is half multiplier unlock able....like normal A64.

QUOTE(satanhead2003 @ Jan 15 2006, 01:29 AM) Guys, need an opinion here. I'm thinking to jump to 754 platform. I'm thinking about AMD64 3000. Here at my place, it got CAA2C stepping. is this a good one, or just a normal one? Sorry, i can't tell from that extract. But what's the rest saying? For sempron64: SDA2500AIO3BX Look for that BX at the back. New batch of A64 S754 with 90nm should have that "BX" at the back. Previous A64 S754 has AR, AX, AP etc. This post has been edited by davidletterboyz: Jan 15 2006, 02:05 AM |

QUOTE(satanhead2003 @ Jan 15 2006, 02:31 AM) Thanks, I do remember it has LBBWE written on it? will this info any good? And according to here its venice. Will this do good on oc? Well, sempron64 has LBBWE but I don't know if A64 S754 90nm has it.I don't know if it's good to o/c, but it should be at least better than Newcastle i think. |

QUOTE(wtm0325 @ Jan 20 2006, 11:49 PM) i start to doubt my cousin NV8 ability, or perhaps my ram, i many people doin high htt at 256/512mb ram but not 1gb The screenshot in that thread only shows CPU-Z. Maybe not benchable? on user at my thread showing off his 407.9htt s2500+ http://forum.abit-usa.com/showthread.php?p=666738#post666738 Anyways....I think only 3 mobos are capable to reach that HTT. DFI, Abit and Epox, although it's a bit hard on Abit. But I've seen 380HTT with NV8....the northbridge is water cooled. |

QUOTE(satanhead2003 @ Jan 21 2006, 09:33 AM) can anybody guide me here? I'm planning to jump to 754 platform and dunno which mobo to buy. As far as i know, you will onli see sempron64 advantages after overclocking. on stock speed, it's on par or only slightly better than barton on socket A ( correct me if i'm wrong here ). Well, u must at least know what's ur target hehe. Don't tell us u want 3Ghz lar. I need to know b4 purchase; which mobo should i buy for oc'ing 2800 sempey? any particular sempey stepping need to watch? Thanx in advance... Stepping......I think the only one I can confirm is 0528UPMW. I have seen 3 CPUs with this stepping (including Cyclone87's), all hitting high frequency. But I doubt u can find it now....most Semprons now are Assembled in China and starts with 0539+. Btw, Assembled in China doesn't mean it's not good. |

QUOTE(satanhead2003 @ Jan 21 2006, 09:46 AM) sorry , forgot to add, i need agp mobo since jarang play any games now. My target is around 2.6-2.7G onli. 2.6-2.7G "only"? Anyways....if AGP, DFI Lanparty UT nF3 250Gb. But quite pricey...and if I heard it doesn't like Hynix rams when u use divider. The next choice should be Abit NF8 and MSI K8N Neo. The MSI is discontinued...so, Abit is the only choice. |

QUOTE(Cyclone87 @ Jan 21 2006, 02:14 PM) I got bought a weird stepping 2500+ from BlackPc..it only 3 Alphabert. It 0536DAG. Hitting 320HTT..need at least 1.7v. Haha...it totally out from wat i expect it to do. All three alphabets are assembled in China. Mine is 0538GAD from D@rk, not yet tested. But i think it's not very o/cable since he doesn't show screenshot or what. This post has been edited by davidletterboyz: Jan 21 2006, 03:15 PM |

It kills sempron64.i think s64 can win a64 in OC, coz as far as i know, a64 on sc754 doesnt OC high coz they use 130nm technology s64 wil oso cooler compare to them most important is!it is cheap compare to a64(lowest 2800+ oso cost 4xx) correct me if wrong |

QUOTE(swgiant @ Mar 30 2006, 12:15 AM) hm, just curiosity to know why you guys' mobo allows you to change the multiplier which lower than 8? mine mobo, msi k8n neo3 does now allow me to change it! when i lower down the HT frequency to 3x then it becomes unbootable, force me to reset the jumper! any tricks? What CPU r u using? If lower it's than sempron 3000+, can't change multiplier. |

IMHO, you need around 300MHz to 400Mhz to offset your single channel and 256kB L2 disadvantages.

QUOTE(swgiant @ May 5 2006, 01:26 AM) i read from the some site and said that the double channels only improved a small margin over a single channel. Sigh, 256KB L2 is really a big impact on the performance index... Dual channels will give 5%-10% performance boost. Bigger L2 cache will give another 5-10%. |
