QUOTE(jimbet1337 @ Sep 20 2011, 11:19 PM)
My youtube streaming stops halfway, no incoming data though I can still browse other websites, youtube included.

Same thing happened if I download anything from fileserve etc. 10-12% then download interrupted.

Is it streamyx or my modem/router is dying?

I don't think it's my modem coz I still can browse at full speed.

Yep, happening to me as well, as it's pissing me off. Youtube streams will stop partway (not even half), while anything from fileserve, megaupload, etc., will disconnect shortly after starting / restarting. This "phenomenon" is particularly evident in the evenings and overnight, but less prevalent during the day (or so my sister tells me). Some of my online tests show packet loss. This is definitely a streamyx problem. Been holding back from calling 100, because i just get irritated talking to those idiots, but my patience is wearing thin. vmad.gif

It's one thing to not be able to download from MU / Fileserve / etc. I'm having problems updating my firewall and antivirus files. This is getting ridiculous! Don't tell me the earthquake in Jakarta story???

Well, this is interesting and irritating at the same time. In order to ensure I am getting as fast a connection as possible, I try to make sure I am connected using a few specific IPs, and avoiding a few others. This often requires me to disconnect and reconnect once in a while to switch IP addresses. Today, I found that I can no longer do this. Disconnecting and reconnecting cannot. Rebooting modem also cannot. Switching off modem and unplugging it for 10 seconds also cannot. The only way I managed to switch IPs was to shut down and unplug for the modem for a good 5 minutes. Anyone else facing this problem?

TM, everyday you find new ways to make me hate you more. Very soon, when I lease is over, I will have the great pleasure of terminating my streamyx account. The thought the my money will no longer add to your bottom line will please me greatly. A pox on the lot of you.

Just submitted my complaint to SKMM:

Problem description:
Poor speeds, unstable and slow connections to overseas websites, yet speed tests to local TM servers are fine. Page load time outs. Line disconnecting, but for some reason IP address remains connected, thus unable to connect to a better / more stable server. Incompetent helpline personnel who don't know how to properly assess a client's problem and only know how to follow a script. Incompetent and uinprofessional service organization (Telekom Malaysia) who spends money trying to build their brand image, only to destroy it all by providing poor, inconsistent and substandard service.

Remedy:
For the love of god, please end Telekom Malaysia's bloody monopoly and open up the communications industry to outside / foreign competition. What is the point of AFTA if we don't intend to implement it? Free up the market, and give the consumers a choice.

Hope the upcoming elections will bring a change, and that whoever leads the govt will open up the communications sector to more / foreign competition. Can't wait to see TM delisted and bankrupted. It's what they bloody deserve for their utter incompetence.

I wish I can get time broadband for my home, but they haven't made their way to Ampang yet.
