This is provided by your apartment management, correct? Macrolynx usually partner with apartment managements.

2mbps symmetrical wifi link or LAN(ETTH).

Their bulk bandwidth comes from Asia Net Com(Pacific Internet). Route to US is via SG-->JP-->US(via Unity Cable)

Upto 4.8Terabits or RAW capacity while TM has no access to this.
The other isp in Malaysia which does the similar routing is Time.

The recent slowdown had many Streamyx and Unifi users affected even with 1/2 of the 70gbps cut off.
Talk about 4.8terabits of capacity.

Singapore has access to 3 of such BIG pipes to USA.

This is what TM emailed me for self troubleshooting

1. Check the phone line quality (Ensure clear tone without any noise).
2. Off and on the modem.
3. Bypass splitter/micro filter/fax machine/lightning protector.
4. Stand alone connection, from wall socket to modem (No parallel line).
If you can stay connected for less than 30 minutes:
1. Check the phone line quality (Ensure clear tone without any noise).
2. Off and on the modem.
3. Bypass splitter/ micro filter/ fax machine/ lightning protector.
4. Create new dialer & configure DNS (Domain Name Server).
- (Preferred DNS Server: 202.188.0.133/Alternate DNS Server: 202.188.1.5)
5. Disable the house alarm system.
6) Flush DNS (Domain Name Server)
For Windows XP:
- Click on "Start" button, go to "run"
- Type "command", click "OK"
- Type in "ipconfig /flushdns", then press "Enter"
- Make sure the result is "Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver cache"
- Type "exit" and press "Enter" to close the window screen
For Windows Vista:
- Click on "Start" button, go to "Accessories"
- Click on "Command Prompt"
- Type in "ipconfig /flushdns", then press "Enter"
- Make sure the result is "Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver cache"
- Type "exit" and press "Enter" to close the window screen

Telekom Malaysia Berhad ™ wishes to inform its customers that TM and its consortium members have detected a cable fault on segment 2 of the Asia-America Gateway (AAG) submarine cable network between La Union in the Philippines and Lantau in Hong Kong linking Malaysia to the United States.

Hence, customers using internet services nationwide may experience some degree of service degradation such as slow browsing and high latency while accessing international websites mainly hosted in the United States, North Asia and Europe. Customers using Virtual Private Network (VPN) and other critical business applications linked to the US, North Asia and Europe may also experience some level of service degradation. Meanwhile, to alleviate the congestion, the traffic has been diverted and managed effectively to ease the situation.

We shall make further announcements on the progress of the restoration works and we apologize for any inconvenience caused by the disruption. We would like to assure our customers that all necessary measures are being taken to restore the services as soon as possible.

We wish to thank our customers for their understanding and patience during the affected period. Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to email us at help@tm.com.my for TM Phone and Broadband customers and unifi@tm.com.my for UniFi customers.

Hulala, thank God.

For a second, I feared TM had started the quota on Unifi, since I just began the month but already surpassed the 120gb limitation ...

Was sweating with worry for a moment lol.

Bad news with a mix of good news hehe. Does this nationwide problem with TM's line mean that Maxis Home Broadband also experiences the service degradation? Since Maxis apparently uses TM's line as well.

Just curious.

It took about a week or 2 to repair the last AAG fault, now again? TM should implement another backup cable incase this crap happens again.

And it occurs at a very bad time, Oct 4, alot new games and dlc releases.
