Guys, may I know what antivirus is actually the best for now. There are some antivirus that will make your pc lag and some antivirus that can't even detect those dangerous malware virus. So, which one is actually the best for you all or which antivirus can detect all malware virus immediately and won't make pc lag?

Using ESET now.
Kaspersky is way too resource hogging. smile.gif

Good surfing habit helps too. smile.gif

Tried Kasperkey before, it was kinda laggy when running full scan.
But it was a good antivirus for malware virus detection

ESET was indeed good as one of the best antivirus.
Tried it before and wanted to try other.

I have tried a lot of antivirus and I want to know more opinions about other antivirus.
And net surfing doesn't tell much.
Real usage will prove whether the antivirus is good.

I was wondering if Avira is actually good enough as a antivirus. What I know is that Avira won't make pc lag when full scan.

Avast is quite a good antivirus and not so resource taking. I haven't tried with Avira before, but comparing Kaspersky and Avast, Avast is a lighter version. However, the lack of features make Avast not so competitive in the AV market. But it is free, so worth to use.

I had a write up on Avast and you can check it out here

Please don't use Bitdefender earlier versions. Bitdefender earlier version is full of bugs. Better wait for 2012 version (currently in beta) or use something with Bitdefender engine like F-secure or G-Data. They use Bitdefender engine but bug free unlike Bitdefender.

Kaspersky 2012 have been improve. Quite light already. Me? I still use avast. Avast is light and detect lots of thingss and is free.

Probably he is trying to mean it is user friendly to him and easy to use. While for his PC, i guess he means it can help him clean lots of infections. happy.gif

I'll recommend Avast! antivirus. Hassle-free and offers what many modern anti-viruses have.

I switched from Antivir to this since the former was a resource hog.

Going to try ESET since everyone is giving good reviews about ESET. Till then, I will close this thread. Thanks for commenting.
