sinister_sid, ur nick doesnt sound too convincing la. haha. just kidding. PM me a quotation for absorbers and springs for both front and back and servicing of carb.

I just tried a random workshop. fixed the following:

mounting - front and back - RM190
Satay bush - RM95 for two.
engine oil - rm55
oil filter - rm 10
labour - rm30.00

is the price reasonable?

Previously went to another workshop and changed the following -

Wash radiator - RM75
change radiator hoses - two big ones connected to radiator and one U shaped one - forgot how much
metal pipe connected to water pump - forgot how much
thermostat housing - forgot how much

but the above about 300+

Is the price reasonable?

Wah broke max sad.gif

Change:
-APM Performax abs/spring (new/peekaboo) - Good for medium  performance and still comfortable for road use.
-Lower arm + bushing + satay bush(candy)
-Distributor seal
-Rear section exhaust piping(1.6inch) and muffler one set for Iswara Aeroback by Matola (vry good bassy sound and not loud) straight flow (similar to wira se design but bigger outlet)

how much for the spring and absorber?

Hi Notoriez,

I also think that it is on the high side. Aih, hard to find honest workshops nowadays. Any good ones to recommend? I need to change quite a few more things.

Even if it is PJ or shah alam it's ok. I'm willing to travel.

I have been to few workshop around PJ/Shah Alam area and i can recommend few..

Normally nowadays i'll frequent JC Performance Racing @ Kelana Jaya there. Near to the church. Don't get fooled by it's name or super expensive cars that are being serviced there. They will entertain any cars that comes in to the workshop as long u dun lansi them la..Their staffs are quite knowledgeable and workmanship is quite good. Price is also surprisingly not expensive..

You may ask them to check first and ask for quotation as well.

One of our forummer here is actually a mechanic. Sinister Sid. He works @ USJ there. Can try to look for him as well.

thanks for the info!

Hi guys, its rainy season .Any one of you experience water leak into boot on LMST? which part to seal? side lamps or reverse light cover inside?  sweat.gif  sweat.gif

Thanks in advance.

It is leaking through the bottom of the back wiper for aerobacks. The rubber seal has hardened. I just use black silicone to seal up the gaps. No more leaking!

Don't think can diy cause they used that canister to pump the gear oil in... I didn't even bother to ask what gear oil they put in, assumed that shell mech will know which type. After all this is not a lambo wink.gif

After changing the gear oil, engaging gear smooth... Before that sometimes resistance in 1st gear and 2nd...

If you're changing this, remember power steering and brake fluid needs to be changed at service intervals too... smile.gif
*
err, no power steering. i drive kerbau. so no issue on that. as with brake fluids, i changed, i.e. flushed about 50k km ago. then after that just top up.

ya, not a lambo, but my bao bei. haha.

can first u open a 22 size nut under ur gb at the bottom of ur gb facing the driver side wheel
then proceed in closing it up after fully drained all and open a nut size 17 at gearbox facing front at below ur gb
then diy a pipe with a cut into half mineral bottle and pour 2l or till the gb oil starting to drip out then closed it back
if its too hard then sent for shop but i dont recomend using those tong with wheel and pumped up type as the oil they using are elcheappo gb oil
even 90w rating gb oil in bottle are alot better
recomend those multigrade 80/90 or 75/85 grading
lighter gb oil are like lighter engine oil
ur shift will be alot smoother brows.gif
mine 91 saga 1 clocked 186k km and another 169k km
