I obviously don't wear one but my fiancee does. Both my family and me don't have any problem with it, as long as the wearer know when she is suppose to open it up.

How old are you and what/who is the one that motivate you to wear one? Tough world you will be facing ahead, lady. Not all woman are istiqomah enough to maintain their will especially whom working in government sector in our country smile.gif

alhamdulillah, that's wonderful to hear about your fiancee. i'm a muslim 20 year old girl from malaysia. Malaysia is a multi-racial country and respects other cultures and religion to be practised, so i don't have any fear or worries so far in wearing the hijab. in fact,i am very confident with my self in hijab, shukron!

which country are you from?

oh,sorry didn't see that.you are from malaysia?..mashallah she's wearing the niqab. i have some desires to wear them, but i don't have the support to do so yet.
could you share abit.or if she had told you her experiences at work?people treat her differently?

basically,i wear the hijab because i am obliged to do so,and i have quite a support from my family.

I am from Malaysia but been transferred to Middle East part to further my study. She is staying in Malaysia currently, if you are wondering.

Her experiences? Well good things won't be easy to be done, that's for sure. Stereotyping, discriminating are quite common for her to face. But you gonna get used to it, not like you are desensitize yourself; but you will know how to comprehend the situation if that happened. All the experiences will somehow mature your way of doing decision in life.

I can't help you much in here but if you honestly want to know more, I think she will be grateful to share her experiences with you. Just drop me a PM and I will provide her email address.

Allah bless you, IA smile.gif

hat's very helpful,maybe one day when i will,i will PM you i'a

Added on June 12, 2011, 11:03 pmbefore wearing the hijab...i always had doubt about my commitment to it,i don't want to be like some others being labelled as "on and off"
i realized things that stopped me from wearing the hijab was because i couldn't wear fancy clothes, and i have to give away all my ear rings....short necklace,headband......

ITS NOT TRUE...keep it!

you can stil use it to style your hijab, believe me....u just must be creative...i know how rediculously impossible it may sound.but it can happen.....covering up doesn't mean you can't be a little bit colourful ))

hi yufa,welcome.. errm,i think if easy...what came to my mind is something like tudung ariani...u can just slide it on kan
if u want to style it abit, maybe if the ariani kind of tudung is plain colour...can use big brooch and pin to the tudung and twist abit..create something there wink.gif

this is a forum, huhu hard to show..but anyway, what type of hijjab do you wear?...the long scarves or slide on hijjab?

Added on June 16, 2011, 8:45 pmdo you people notice, some typical malays...would wear the hijjab...but still they would wear short sleeves, tight clothes...or sometimes they make their hair seen from the back...

i feel ashamed seeing that act, because some of my foreigner friends or even our local other religion friends, would somehow ask...and get confuse on why we actually wear the hijjab
