I live Kuching and I want to get a gaming rig but i want to try local market first so I'm wondering if there's any reliable shop or person who provides gaming rig building service at reasonable price (I mean no that expensive la compared to KL). I'm know what i want for my specs but just who or which shop do I look for? Any senior sarawakian forumers or anyone can help or advice?

If you personally know any agents working at pcimage(any branches best at saberkas). You can ask them to build pc for you, and you can easily get discounts for the pc parts.

Last year i bought sound card from Niclasteoh, cheap and fast although postage from Sarawak....

i don't really trust some of those technicians in pcimage. i have talked to them before and they are just not that convincing.

anyway, i would seriously recommend you to visit Nicholas Teoh (niclasteoh) at 4th Floor of One TJ. His shop name is NTCT Mod. He opened about 1pm in the afternoon till 9pm at night, 7 days a week. His items are pretty up to date.

His prices are very reasonable and competitive. Pretty nice guy to talk with. I often drop by his shop to chit chat. i got my hd6990, ax 1200, p67a-ud7, etc from him. he even helped me to carry my big and heavy casing to my house.

maybe u can survey all the hardware at other places like pcimage,3e. . .
than bring ur stuffs there & he'll do the assembly. ask him bout cooling system & sure he'll recommend all the fans, grill, cabling management & everything. . .

ok..any computer shop can build u the rig..the question is what rig u want..whether its in kuching, kelantan,kedah or kl...

my suggestion is that u estimate a budget and ask the sifus here for the best bang for buck hardware..copy/print it out and then ask respective computer shop to quote the best price and get them to assemble the parts too...not necessary that it has to be niclasteoh..*i notice his price is a tad pricier compared to other's, although i understand he provide good after sales service* choice is ur's..

if they dun have that particular parts, listen and see how reasonable is the alternative suggestions.

Kinda disappointed while reading this thread as I'm of PC Image's staffs. I can't deny the fact but, I also can't say much bout my place since they are paying for my salary. And yeah, just saying, most of the people overhere don't really have wide knowledge about computers especially hardwares. They are more to laptops oriented and just suggesting items that available in the shops itself. Me myself prefer to deal with NiclasTeoh eventhou he quite busy to reply pm.

Gee, no offence bro, this thread was suppose to ask for guidance on building rigs, but that's my view and other ppls opinion on pcimage. But ur accessory r ok. The Seagate external hd i bought from pcimage still hasn't fail me (hopefully it stays that way).

Haha I didn't mean bash at you but.. since its my working place, I really hope PCImage will improve more and gain customers' trust. About building rigs in PCImage.. Its better for you to buy parts by parts and assemble yourself instead of assembling it there. But its all up to you, your money and I can only provide advices

Hello there. Nowadays in 2015 there are maybe 2 shops in Kuching that you should go first to get your computer stuff .

1. the only GOTO shop to get your high end Graphics Card eg GTX980 , 970 , R9 290x , your 27" Asus Gaming Monitor , 27" Dell IPS monitors and your Razer Mouse /gamepad/keyboard and Kingston Fury , Beast 8GB per stick rams, Full ATX casings from CM, Corsair, TT, or watercooling stuff from Corsair , PSU from Seasonic , Gigabyte ,corsair and all sorts of laptops. will be Compuway at One TJ near Stutong. you only need to go there to get whatever your need maybe.
They have another shop at Boulevard but the selection are quite limited unless you want to go see their Razer Mouse Pads, they have everything from Goliathus to Vespula and everything in between.
Their prices are 20-30 ringgit higher than what you find in the Viewnet pricelist so just be ready with your Credit card or cash.

2. you can go to Wisma Saberkas PC image or the PC image at One TJ if you are looking for inks , hard disks, gaming laptops, value rams , external HDDs and most mainstream things , they have less high end stuff but their pricing is pretty decent. They got GTX970/980 stuff too but selection on Monitors/Casings are pretty bland. Basicly you go there for better pricing and if you cant find what you wanted , go Compuway.

PC image have a few branches ,the notable ones are at CityOne and The Spring, but they are pretty specialized , concentrating on laptops and peripherals like speakers, gaming things, handphones , Razer stuff ,Samsung smart TVs and not on computer hardware. The one at The Spring is mainly a Laptop shop but you can get very high end gaming laptops from them like Razer Blades and ASus ROG gaming laptops.

most of the high end stuff that end up on Mudah Kuching will have bills from either Compuway or Pc image.

I dont think there is much choice in Kuching, but the Compuway and the PC Image both in One TJ is the only shops you need to visit frankly. Or use Lowyat Garage sales.
You cannot find a few brands here : NZXT , Leadtek,Palit ,Galax, here all carry the high margin ones like Asus , MSI , even Gigabyte is rare.

hai, I'm still new in PC kind of stuff and I'm wanted to buy a gaming PC mainly to play DOTA 2 and also AAA games, I have around 2k to 3k budget, any recommended place on where should I go to? I live in Kuching btw ☺

I live in Bintulu, almost all of my PC need I order from Lelong, they will ship using Air Parcel with is really cheap compared to poslaju and the wait time is reasonable.
Around 3k budget need monitor? if already got monitor you could have mid range gaming PC.

There's really only 2 dependable stores to buy rigs, #1 PC-IMAGE, #2 COMPUWAY. I prefer PC-IMAGE, and they can build your rig to spec. Their biggest shop is in Wisma Saberkas and OneTJ. I've bought builds from Compuway (in OneTJ and Boulevard). My main issue with Compuway is that they used a re-certified WD Black drive and it was out of warranty. But they're replacing it for me for free (you have to be aware of the warranty lengths). Still, I like Compuway as they sometimes have items PC-IMAGE does not. Also, for gaming rigs, I suggest go with all ASUS parts. Their service center in Kuching is amazeballs. They just replaced my R9-280X that was out of warranty with an R9-390. That's some customer service!

I bought a new rig and some stuff at 1Jaya. There's a small PC shop there called WillCom. Can try and ask him for quotation first. His price usually cheaper than PCImage and he can build it for u. Can check it out

just to add, now got some new pc shops in kuching, u guys can try vivacity mall, have 2 new shops, namely ACI and Thunder match..their products are pretty extensive, especially at ACI where i bought my reliable mousepad, psu and other stuffs..u guys can go check them out..price wise, i think comparatively in Kuching should be almost the same..
