Whoa! The latest actual gameplay graphics looks fantastic. And that's from YouTube video. Have not even seen howzit like in 60fps. Will be getting it since I've sold my KZ. Was about to buy AC4 the other day but 'luckily' Heavyarms wasn't open when I arrived. Good thing I didn't buy AC4 and reserve the fund for TR.
No, I'm not against AC4. But I'm not fated to play AC series. Had AC1 but sold it after playing for 30 minutes. Someone offered a high price to buy it. Then, jumped to AC Liberation. Didn't like it at all and sold it (well, it's not supposed to be good anyway). No chance to try the others since then. Loved the TR SP. But it's kind of a bummer when you've cleared everything. Left you on a deserted island. Now, I have an excuse to play it all over again. Besides, I'm gameless now apart from PS Plus freebies. |

QUOTE(andrewtho @ Jan 27 2014, 09:51 AM) I'm with you, man. I just sold my KZ yesterday for RM100. Yes, I'm so desperate to remove the game from my library. Only reached the part after the infiltration and I was like cannot tahan anymore. Great graphics, great sound. But can't find things to shoot. Probably that's why everyone is playing MP only. |

Woohoo! Managed to secure a copy for tonight. Looks like my 7-day CNY holiday won't be so boring after all.

After playing for 2 hours, here's my thoughts.
Like any PS4 game, installation is a breeze. All background task. Not like you need to wait for it back in PS3 days. Loading is much faster than PS3. During the first QTE, I remembered the PS3 loads like mad, then you die, then load like mad again. No comment on regular load. They mask it using tunnel squeeze. Graphics obviously much better but not KZ material. There are parts when you just wanna walk instead of running. Character movement remained the same. Not as realistic as TLOU ... but who can top that. NPCs looked the same. They've only retouched Lara. I may be wrong, but it sounded better. Possible it's just pacebo. And it 'bounce' less. That's the only drawback so far. |

Did another few hours of gameplay this morning. Here's some additional stuff. I might be wrong on some facts.
Sometimes, the camera goes into 'shaky cam' mode. This is done on purpose to add drama. There's an extra parkour move where she leaps over small barriers. Don't recall seeing that on PS3 but maybe I didn't trigger it back then. The touch pad is fun. Swipe up to light the torch, swipe down to extinguish it, Other basic feature are like map zoom. Once the lightning cracks, the flash is like whoa! Confirmed that loading is significantly faster. The cutscenes are still 30fps. So, it's odd to say that in-game graphics are better than cutscenes. |

Almost completed the main story. Tag me in if you wanna MP. There's too many trophies assigned to MP. That kind of svcks considering how bad the mode is. My PSN is 'pkhx124'

QUOTE(nill @ Feb 2 2014, 08:31 PM) Anyone tried remote play? RP does not utilize internet connection (unless you're doing it through two different networks). It's not about the distance between your PS4 and Vita. It's the distance from each device to your router / access point. I don't really have problems with RP. Usually use it for IGN app (although I can watch the same thing through YouTube). The connection is intermittent and i randomly lost connection. Using Vita 1k and Streamyx 4M. Sitting 5 feet from PS4. No object is in between Vita and PS4. only have Tomb Raider |

Tested the Vita RP with TR today. Controls are well mapped. None of the back buttons used. The extra LR buttons are placed on the top and bottom corner of the Vita screen.
Great for treasure hunting after you've completed the SP. And if you wanna taste 30fps instead of 60fps, you now have a chance. |

QUOTE(OKLY @ Feb 4 2014, 10:08 AM) Damn, must resist the poison to get a Vita, really tempted for remote play only. Can do side missions for certain games while resting on the bed if too tired to sit in front of the TV. I do have one problem with Vita on TR (can't confirm if it will happen on all other games). The Vita itself has a weak wifi adapter. When I'm upstairs, I can only get 1 out of 3 bars. Most probably my wireless router is a factor as it has only a 2dbi antenna. Would be great if you have something like 5dbi. |

QUOTE(OKLY @ Feb 5 2014, 10:35 PM) I was doing the challenge where we need to light up the banners and I missed one as I accidentally went through the small gap, the game saved that point as a checkpoint and now I can't go back to the earlier area? You got to be kidding me! I'm guessing it's the "non believer" challenge. Can track back in later stage. Is it the one where it's indoors and where you cause a huge explosion to break the glass? |

QUOTE(OKLY @ Feb 6 2014, 07:55 AM) Yup. You can go back. If not during the story, you will be able to travel back after clearing the SP. I remembered I have 3 more banners to burn, then went back after finishing SP. |

I'll be online tonight at 10pm. Whoever wanna shoot a non moving MP target, add me in. ID : pkhx124
Drop me a pm and i'll send you my whatsapp number for easier communication. I believe those from opposite teams cannot use mic to communication. Dunno if the system party chat on the other hand allows it. |

I'm gonna hit myself for being a dumbass. After completing the main story, you can explore the entire island freely. What I didn't know is that the day-night thing can change. So there I was, scavenging the area in darkness. When the forest turned to day, I was like "what the hell, it's much easier now". Till now, I have no idea if there's an internal clock or something else.
And the MP is also another thing. Upgrading the survivor does not mean upgrading the solari. Was kicking ass using Sam and then the sides turned the next round. And I was like "where are all my skills?". |

After playing MP for a while, looks like leveling up isn't so hard. I was lvl 4 this morning and after 2 short sessions, I'm already level 11.

QUOTE(OKLY @ Feb 10 2014, 11:23 PM) Considered ok. Usually will have an average of 3 vs 3 match. But I usually just go to 'quick match'.I was googling for some tips and found out that there's an exploitation method for quick level up which can be done solo. Will try it tomorrow. |

Till now, I have no idea what the heck are rank matches. Maybe coz I always go to quick match.
The XP exploit works. But with the time spent, you might as well do an actual MP and get some fun. I'm still far away from hitting a platinum trophy. Still have some challenges to complete, the "get over here" thing and lots of MP things to deal with. Slowly getting them bit by bit. |

Almost to the point of giving up on getting a platinum. The MP ones are too dependent. And the annoying part is, 30% is MP.
