is there a difference between the R1 and R3 version? why does R1 cost RM50 more, just because its US region?

2nd day of playing and about half-way through the game. Think I should slow down and go back and collect missing collectables.
Nice story gameplay so far, kind of reminds me of the Lost tv series - everyone who comes get stuck on the island |
