I'm planning to buy Honda City E Series by next year February.

I have looked at all other manufacturers and and the S series. Following is why I have my eyes on this model:
1. 5 gear with stereng gear shifters
2. 6 speakers
3. slightly larger wheels than S series

Would love any comment and feedback on this car. Thanks in advance.

You will be amazed by the sound system biggrin.gif

Gear shifter is really fun.

Big wheel is cool. but make it wider to 195 if you could so that it is more stable.

you mean the tyre width? that'll be nice. how much did it roughly cost? need to know my maintenance.

Better still, looks more 'kaw'and sporty, add the Modulo Kit, 5 pcs in all and not 4 as offered.
*
you mean the skirting? the bumps are not friendly to the skirting bro. overtime there will be damage to the skirtings.

What negative comments? Give me a list of car and I'll list all the negative sides.

Trust me, every cars have their own problem. No car is perfect.

Here are the reasons you should get this car.

1. Electronic Stability Control (E-spec 2012 only, active safety) - saves your life/car before an accident happens,  and no other B segment cars have it except Fiesta? wink.gif
2. Paddle shifters - makes your automatic car more fun to drive  wub.gif
3. Solid disc rear braking system (active safety) - other competitors? uses drum for rear. 6 airbags also no use (passive safety).  doh.gif
4. 5 speed AT - other competitors? 4 speed AT (except Polo sedan and Fiesta, both with 6 speed AT)  icon_rolleyes.gif
5. Good quality stock head unit and speakers - everyone asked me did I changed my speakers but actually I didn't.

+1

Looks like I did my research right. I'm thinking to change the head lamps and brake lights to LEDs like the Audi, any comments?

Talking about security, there's been rampant rim stealing and car jacking.

How do you guys safeguard the car and rim from thieves?

Using the stock alarm, is it sufficient or do they have a single custom nut installed for each of the wheel to prevent it?

I just visited the Honda showroom again. They are giving RM6.5k rebate for city. I'm planning to get the 5 piece modulo body kit with front panel upgrade, giving the car total price to RM88k.

Looks sexy with the skirting and front panel. I hope next time it'll give the car better price with the kits together.

Buying the car at the end of the year may not be a good idea but the banks are giving interest starting from 2.5% - 2.7% for year end sales.

In the long run it should be justified?

Should I install the 5 module kit with front panel or just keep it original? It will cost me an extra RM4,470 for it.

What about installing it through accessories shop?

Would recommend to get it installed through accessories shop, it should be less than RM1.5k for bodykit and front grille.

It is not worth to get from Honda, so expensive.

The 2nd hand value of a car will not increase because of additional accessories installed, that's why most of them sell their after market head unit, UR bars, skirting, grille and other accessories separately when they sell their cars.  biggrin.gif

ah I see, that's a lot of savings! thanks for the tips!

what about security from rim and car theft? I'm worried about stolen car and rims.

I also heard there is no auto lock when you start the car, have to install or set it yourself, is that true?

adding the kits, made the car look nicer, at the same time it also will attract unwanted attention from car thieves. maybe I shouldn't install the kits.

I still use steering lock just so that any potential thief will think twice before trying to steal my car after they saw the lock on the steering, I doubt it will stop them from stealing my car anyway.

Oh btw, I did the AutoFoam comfort package. Can feel the car a bit more solid and less body roll, but if you want to reduce the cabin noise, do a proper soundproof. The AutoFoam probably reduce the noise for a little bit but nothing significant that will make you say "Wow!".

How much does it cost for a proper soundproof and what does it offer?

That is a very valid reason. Then again, here's the next question.

How much security is enough, it seems like everything can be foiled so easily.

Having a car also headache...
