Hi to honda city owners here.
May I know what is the minimal nett income to own a Honda City?
Haha.. Just curious.. Don't shoot me pls.. tongue.gif
*
If you're single and live in the city, perhaps around RM4K/mth income level should be comfy with the fuel, toll and service. Just an estimate dude... don't shoot me pls also! hehehehe

I like your answer. lol
By the way, i heard people saying as long as our installment is not more than 25% of our income should be ok right? tongue.gif
*
Should be ok, then again, I have to stress out on how you do your personal budgeting and if you have any other financing commitments like housing loan, high-maintenance gf and such... hehehe

Gals monthly requirements on shoes, dress, handbags, skincare and cosmetics can sum up to more than your maintenance service on your HC you know tongue.gif

The 60:40 fold seats are still there. I guess they removed the 'recline' feature due to ISOFIX (child seat) which was not present in the pre-FL HC.

I'm just a bit sad they had to change the seat fabric, which previously was the stain repellent kind. But this is really just nit-picking.
*
Right, those seats still can fold down, but couldn't recline back for a more relaxed position any more.

Added on June 21, 2012, 10:14 amQuite a bit of extras for rear seat occupants. Source: Paul Tan blog.

Rear centre seat now has head-rest, 3-point seat belt, ISOFIX points for baby/child seat.
Oh yeah, new rims design too, same size though.

Still, new owners will not know what they're missing - the rear recline-able seats are really comfy...

Pre-FL models both E and S doesn't have VSA. Only models in Australia has been having VSA all along.

Hi all Sifus here! With regards to some pictures shown on the previous page of springs being installed at the trunk, what are those springs anyway? And what purpose do they serve? Thanks!

QUOTE(winterwish @ Jul 25 2012, 02:12 AM)
At 140km/h, does the RPM exceed 3k?

I've read since it got 5 gear, when cruising at highway the RPM is lower quite a bit compared to a regular 4 speed AT.

Also question for the paddle shift.. does it work like a manual car? Say if I upshift earlier when driving, does it have any impact at all on FC? Basically trying to keep the RPM below 2k since on normal 'D' mode it might took longer to upshift.
*
At 140 km/h on 5th gear, it's at 3000 rpm.
Yes, should be lower RPM than regular 4 speed AT.

Yes again, there's an impact on FC (when upshift too early) and can be observed on the vacuum FC meter gauge on the dash. Paddles shift works quite like manual but it has its safeguard electronics in place so that you won't go over-revving.

I find in D mode, shifting up is fast (at lower RPM) rather than my preference (in mnaual mode) at higher RPM (for more acceleration). Shifting up early is good for FC if you prefer gradual acceleration.

Just want to report that the new SMO-W20 semi-synthetic oil recommended by the SC was working great and results in improved FC as claimed...

QUOTE(xin @ Aug 8 2012, 02:06 PM)
but the booklet that honda SA gave me write OW-20 is a full synthetic oil o. I also changed to that oil too since SA give me 15% off, did you get the RM10 voucher for next oil change ?
*
Got that voucher. Fully synthetic as explained to me is more for performance. The semi-synthetic blend is to optimize FC. Fully synthetic very hurtful to wallet. If Honda puts my City on 10000 km service interval, then it might be worth it. Otherwise...

Just want to double confirm,  is the NHC still maintain same service maintenance interval ie. 3months or 5000km ??
*
Stayed the same. I last saw that the new Civic got bumped to 10,000 km service interval.

car interior light dims as soon as i shut the door. normal?

That's normal. Congrats by the way, it's a great car!

Oh a few things on new units:
1) Get your boot alarm trigger armed.
2) Get auto-door-lock installed.

My 3 years old City having cranking issues recently, sometime need 2 - 3 time to successfully start my engine. Any idea? Battery problem or ?
*
Could be the starter or the battery causing problem. Easiest is to bring to any nearby shop and do a battery load test.

I meant is OW-20 is classified as Full Synthetic engine oil. Here's a snapshot from the booklet i got from Honda SC.

[attachmentid=2992019]

Ya, really hope they have it a 10000km interval, if warranty is over can we go over to SC for service after 10000km ignoring their advise ? hehe
*
Yeah, you're right. I referred to an article in previous issue of With Dreams Honda magazine about this oil. Guess I got 'connned' by the SC stating it was semi-synthetic so they can push the sale through me. After the warranty period of 3 years, and if I feed my City with full-synth, I guess I would push for 10,000 km service interval too.

i just got my car 3 weeks ago. So far, 3rd time pump fuel.

1st tank from SA, RM70 = 340++km
2nd tank, RM70 = 360++km
3rd tank, RM62 = ??? (still monitoring)

BTW, i drive mostly city...maybe 80% city (most of the time is congested esp after working hr in KL city) and 20% (highway)

Hopefully, after first service will improve =)
*
After first 1000km, things should settle and perhaps can see 400km on a tankful (42 ltrs).

Hopefully =)

So far the car is doing alright...but one thing i dislike is the car tyre...
i got the continental tyre...16".
However, it's very noise on the road...that i have to turn on the radio loud =(
Check the tyre pressure it's 35 at first (super noisy).
Reduce to 30 already. lesser abit noise but still bothering me =(
Will tell the service centre once I service 1k.
Hmm...
*
Reduced to 30 psi? Careful there. Front should be 32 psi and rear 30 psi. Under-inflated tires leads to bad FC.

Wonder going back to Honda SC or outside workshop better .
*
Battery - outside shop perhaps. Got more options/choices and better yet - pick a maintenance-free battery! Just stand and witness the load test voltage reading yourself (avoid kena conned laa).

I vouch for Honda Imavest in Sungai Long. Been with them 3 times, 50 minutes flat and I am outta there!!!

On a note to all interested with tinting, better to know someone related in the business because 95% of the cost is pure profit to cover labour. Tint film material cost next to nothing. So if you know someone, the discount can be really really STEEP!

engine oil will affect FC but very little only... like my dugong... FC increased a bit after changing from semi to full doh.gif

i think honda got 0-w20 fully synthetic... never tried before though...
*
Yeah, Honda has fully-synthetic SM0-W20 engine oil. Not bad, using it now but pricey. Can see slightly improved FC.
