Just came back from the sc, been having this weird buzzing humming sound when ever i accelerate ... sounded very electrical like when the compressor kicked in ...

Test drove with the mechanic and he mention its like when the hybrid motor kick in .... hahahaha but he did agreed its very much electrical ...

He jacked it up and found out there is double metal shielding near the exhaust right after the engine which was sort of bent and the vibration when accelerating is causing that weird eletrical like buzzing ...

He fixed and sound was gone ...

Weird

Berapa RM bro? Besides, if u change to K&N, everytime u send to Honda to service have to inform them? They might accidently throw it away and replace with theirs.

Waa should ask for tint discount. Hehe. For Tint Master, how much for the whole car?
Bro, I think if you install K&N drop in air filter, it will improve the pick up a little bit. Maybe you can try?
If you put the car in S, you don't have to use paddle shift if you don't want to, it will upshift for you but at a higher RPM compare to normal D mode.. so you get a bit more power. But once you use the paddle shift, you'll have to upshift/downshift manually like a manual car. Except you don't have to press clutch la. Haha.

It's fool proof so say you're doing 100km/h and accidentally downshift to second gear, it won't engage the gear until the speed is safe to do so.

I haven't got my car yet but this is all from what I gather around the old Honda city forum. Hehe.
*
leaving the car is S will only upshift max to 4th gear, will not go into 5th ... but yeah u need the extra acceleration rite ...

Am planning to take a long drive up to Kelantan this week, so decided an early 45k service, despite my mileage being just just of 43k km ...

Complained bout the cranking lag issue, which i suspected was a batt issue back then at 39k, when i went for my 40k km service, SC says my batt was okay and just added an additional grounding wire from batt to body.

So today after my complain the SA mentioned there will be a new recall service for the additional grounding wire installation soon and will let me know. They then proceed to work on my car and the mechanic found out that my load after start of engine was low, he mentioned 7.* something and its suppose to be 9.* something ... so they say its a batt issue and coincidently they have the cable for the recall service which just arrived today, so he proceed to install them for me.

Its way bigger gauge compared to the one installed by the SC, and its now two location(refer to the pic)

They also mentioned prior to my complain, they were simply claiming the batt for user and Honda Malaysia says this is no longer possible, hence i did not get it. Hence got to waste money myself to get it changed. I got back the same batt they were recomending at the SC, that is Panasonic ... i got it RM160 and installation RM10 ...

aii now pokai ...

i think the price is cheap tho consider the brand is panasonic.. after the grounding added, u still encounter the cranking lag? so what is the purpose of adding the gauge?

i start to have the crank issue, 1 year 8 months car..
*
yeah, i think so, even though its 30 - 40 ringgit savings ... its still money rite, what i heard was back then panasonic batt was quite shity, but now its way better thats why Honda is using it here ...

the cranking lag i get it few times a week, not really that often ...

the high gauge wire is grounding for the car, this will act in stabilizing electrical noise and voltage spikes and equalizing resistance and voltage between various ground points ... better grounding means better electricity flow through out the car as our car has quite some electronics on it ...

what i was told nowadays normal MF batts will last a year plus ... the standard ori batt will last u 18 months or so ...

my car is 18 months ...

Thanks a lot for sharing including the photo. Do update if you still face the hard to start issue. I guess this only happens when the car is hot or after driving for a distance. Do you notice the light flickering still happen after the cable change?
*
i think its a batt issue after all ... and no lights flickering issue and when i had the cranking issue it happens fairly random ...

I just went tru the manual and surprisingly the manual states that the oil change interval is 10k under normal driving condition and 5k is its severe driving condition ...

wonder why all Honda SC assumes that we drive our car under severe condition?

iVTEC opens at around 3.5K RPM, should a different engine growling tone... Turn to S-Mode and use the paddle shift, you should be able to smoke others on the streets...
*
ivtec doesnt necessarily comes during specific rpm, unlike the older vtec ...

it comes on whenever the engine onboard microcomputer feels there is a need for extra power, mostly from the accelerator ... it will kick in when ever there is a need for it ...

For the paddle shift use, should one use the + or - sign when want to accelerate after passing thru the smart tag toll lane?
*
thats a very weird question u have there

if you want to accelerate, u can step on it and it will downshift by itself

if u wanna use the paddle, of course go for the negative sign, so it downshifts ... but most of the time, when u have slow down at the toll, it will downshift all th way to 1, even as u are on S mode, it will still downshift if you been using the paddle before entering the lane

nowadays no one bother to read thru the whole thread and yet feels like they have some doubts before buying ...

read more or just walk in to several showrooms and ask ...
