Can paddle shift car like New Honda City 1.5 drive like proton wira 1.5 manual car ?

Say,in traffic jam we used wira first gear to move the car from static .Let the car move a bit

then change to second gear.

How about the car like city with paddle shift ?

Used the way drive like mentioned above with paddle shift.....

Big advantage is without press the left clutch in honda city and comfort drive all the way.

Will this save fuel like wira 1.5 manual car during heavy traffic jam ?

Since i never drive paddle shift car before,please share ur experience.

Paddle shifting is not save fuel...but to WASTE MORE FUEL...haha..

Actually, i have no idea....driving my Inspira on 'D' only...tried paddle shifting, but not really use to it...it's not like driving manual...more like playing video game....

Different people seems to have different theory....you can upshift quicker though than driving 'D', but you have to know your car well or you'll lose too much power when upshifting too early. The auto tranny will also not allow you to downshift too low if your engine is not in the right condition, security precautions.

it not very useful if you up-shift, because it wont save much fuel, but it quite useful when you down-shift to pick-up/overtake/rev as high as possible let the vtec "kick in".

In fact i don't care about fast pickup,

I think the advantage of paddle shift is without the use of

manually press the clutch......

I'm getting sick and tiring of pressing the wira clutch.

I may buy honda city in future.

you dont really need to use it unless you need more pickup, D will let to drive to any place that a car can go in Malaysia

I think first gear in D mode will rev to higher before change to second gear.

This is the disadvantage of auto car, too much fuel wasted.

But with the paddle shift feature,we can act like change the gear manually like manual car.

It depend on how hard on your right foot, if you press lighter, it change to next gear faster, usually before 3k rpm, if you up shift on 2k rpm or so, i think the car behind will hate you a lot

I think the new honda city uses a conventional torque convertor instead of a CVT one right? Auto will never act like a manual, but you could try

From my experience if the speed does not correlate with the gear it will shift itself no matter which gear you told it to be in. For example if the speed is too low but you shifted into 5 for example, the ECU will downshift for you although you are in paddle shift mode. Same goes to if you over rev the ECU will upshift for you to prevent engine damage as much as you would like to remain in gear it wont allow.

u mean Auto will not be as fast as Manual?

If not mistaken, it have time delay when you are using sports mode.... So by the time ECU found out that the gear ratio not right, you already reach or pass that gear shift.... It is good on improve the FC. Like using D mode you get gear shift at 3000rpm but with sports mode you may change it at 2500rpm.....

Well, auto can be a fast as manual or even faster, if you floor your paddle.... But it won't be FC friendly....

go and check you CVT and Manual car FC.. same car just different gearbox.. see which model more FC friendly...

Seems like i put too much hope on honda city .

Auto gearbox means auto gearbox ...paddle shift wouldn't help much.

I think i shud look for the real manual gearbox with paddle shift like DSG.....

Too bad they are selling sky high price.

Well, it depends type of roads you use.... If traffic jams only, auto still the best.....
More important is your right leg, which matters the most....

ai ya just buy a honda hybrid lah dont need all this mess, shift to D and press the paddle

I think the cheapest DSG u able to get is the Polo.. correct me if I am wrong...

U don't even need to shift.. let it run automatically.. it is faster than manual....

A manual car without clutch is not what you call manual la. With the existence of the clutch, this add spices to stick shifting car IMO.
