Just sharing my experiences about these arcade sticks. To read or not to read is your choice biggrin.gif

If that stick is the wireless model with the dongle then I think no. I've tried that stick, its thin and the Sanwa sticks base is really big. Also, I feel that the stick can't really react to 2D game play coz its a little stiff compared to Sanwa. Unless you got accustomed to it already so no issues there.

Although I havn't really opened it up, I have a feeling that its the type where the buttons are soldered on to the PCB/motherboard. Not entirely can't be modded but it will take lots of time and money to mod it.

And just for everyone's info about modding, getting 1 set of Sanwa/Seimitsu buttons and stick with balltop might have a price range of RM170-RM200+ depending if u get it by bulk order and shipping costs. So a rough estimate for modding a cheaper arcade stick to use its base would be;

RM150 = Box Base. Average price in todays market
RM170 = Stick + Balltop + 6 Buttons (Looking at minimum cost)
RM100 = Average Labour charges to mod the stick if you cant DIY
RM420 = Total spent.

Might as well get Qanba Q4 or a Madcatz TE off the shelf. You dun have to waste time for waiting on the buttons to arrive from Japan and time spent waiting on your "engineer" to mod your stick. Just buy, unbox it and start playing with it (sounds wrong tongue.gif). Plus, the base box is made easy for everyone who wanna replace the buttons and stick if they went faulty.

My point from this long essay, if you wanna invest in an Arcade stick, I would recommend to save up the money and get a good stick. Its built well and might be stuck with you till you break it in half. I myself own a Madcatz TE and a modded stick with Sanwa parts. Both are still working well for these 2 years. Except it got a real torture by me. smile.gif

Of course money is a factor here, if you can't save up and in desperate need to use an arcade stick, then just get any cheaper model that you may feel comfortable with. Hori products are good alternatives. Especially older Hori sticks like HRAP. They come stocked with Sanwa JLF stick but not the ball top and buttons. So modding those wont be much of a problem.
