My tint-installer told me, in case I kena from JPJ, no need bribe or argue, ask them issue summons, my tint company will settle the summons for me. But so far np. Almost 4years ed

Should be brows.gif I think there is no way we could cause the bubble.
It should be their fault for not properly tint it.

Well, obviously we wont use a hairdryer and screwed up our tint right? you got what i'm mean.

QUOTE(pravred @ Jul 20 2011, 11:38 AM)
yup his tint too dark can't really see ppl inside the car, didn't know tint company offer to settle summon may be your tint is the approved one so it's the police fault.
*
If too dark until cannot see people inside sure kena one. But I doubt your friend tint company will offer to settle the summon. There a guidance for until how dark will the tint company offer to settle. I dont see the reason why we should tint our BLM dark until like those minister's car lor. Not like BLM is as big as AhFatt until we can do something inside brows.gif

Normally tint shop will settle your so called 'summon', they will take out the tint first and ask you to let JPJ check, after JPJ approved, then tint shop will re-install the tint.  brows.gif
*
One of the method for dark tint. The other one is to replace all the window, front and rear screen with totally no tint. Send to JPJ, come back refix your original one. brows.gif

I've detected a few tiny bubbles here & there but ATM nothing serious enuf 2warrant a claim, I think! Hope not expand & become larger... icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Even the most expensive tint (e.g: VKool), after a few years will have few tiny bubbles here and there.
Tiny not a big deal, but not until like the one eric having. doh.gif

u suggest u go install new tint
go for a better tint...search for good brand, high UVR,IRR and low VLT(around the same as your car)
but most importantly good workmanship(very important, see who is installing, young kids thn walk away)
if u dn't want JPJ trouble ...u just change the rear mirror only
and choose those VLT% that is almost the same as saga...or close enough

Added on July 20, 2011, 12:04 pm
this is caused by bad workmanship....they let those youngster to install their car
those youngsters only take 30-45minutes to install their car....too fast
which is why only after few years already bubbles comes out...sometime even faster
*
I would blame on the bad workmanship instead of youngsters.
Some youngsters really have good workmanship.
Nvm bout that, obviously this argument youngsters vs workmanship never ends.

But I would say workmanship really important. Always go for recommended tint shop.
Macam luck pulak.

bad workmanship and youngsters are same....because u need an experienced install to install for u
there's a reason why car original tint is bad...all because of bad workmanship
why?...because imagine how many cars are produce by proton each day?...and they have to install tint for every car
so they only have very little time for every car...which result the bad quality
the place i go ...they only install MAX 5 car per day...no matter expensive or cheap tint
my car goes in 8AM...he only finish installing it by 3PM
he just slowly using his heatgun to do it...until now...no such bubble and colour coming out
*
Agreed with most of your point. Only still disagree with the bad workmanship = youngsters.
True you need experienced installing tint.
If those youngsters careful/SaiSam/Teliti enough and do it slowly, I dont see why we couldnt give them a chance. One day those youngsters also will become Sifu one.

for me it really depends on how much time they spent on your car
if they spend only 30-45min to install whole car = bad workmanship
they need to spend like hours to install it in order for it to last
but most young installer out there that i see...all of them all want to install fast fast...no patients at all or care abt quality or lazy
*
True true! I saw a *green colour* tint shop at Bandar Puteri, Puchong. Finished tint in 30minutes for a Saga size car.
I was like WTF! Are you guys using robot? machine?

Shop owner: No la, we all professional.

The fuel indicator got 6bar. When the time it touch the last bar then the low fuel warning light will come up & keep flash in the meter.

According the SC, they said the sensor is attached with the fuel pump. So they said normally change the fuel pump then problem will solve. But now have done with new fuel pump but problem still exist.

Headic~~~
*
I thought that supposed to be Normal? rclxub.gif
Total 6 Bars. When reach the lowest bar, fuel warning will light up and the lowest bar will flash though the real thing inside BLM fuel tank still left 10liters. I thought this is normal? My 1st Gen BLM has been acting like this since the 1st day until now.

Side note: Lately my BLM got a quite bad FC. 10liters go about 110-120KM cry.gif Manual somemore. Millage reaching 61k

Ooo. Okok. Misunderstanding here.

Btw xshiro, just a suggestion:
Why not you put some FC information on the front page. Although the FC may vary based on many factors but I guess maybe you could put simple/average FC information. Found it very useful for people who wanted to buy new car.
Just my 2cent

Which is totally cannot be trusted at all.
6liter/100KM under 90KMph.

Honda Insight just managed to get 5liter/100Km. BLM 6liters?
So far I never achieve that 6liters for 100Km before. Realistic maybe 8.5-9.5liter for 100Km

AFAIK...from the review i read
honda insight's FC...is pretty much the same as a normal petrol car
not sure why but it's worst than other hybrid car
my car can do RM10(5.26L) = Approx 80KM 50%city 50% highway
i'm pretty sure travelling on full highway constant 90KM/H can reach 6L....but it wouldn't be fun, it would be extremely boring
*
Seriously, your BLM definitely the best Auto FC I ever heard of.
As for constant 90KMpH reaching 6liters cruise on highway. Might be possible, but who going to use highway 100%?

no...ever since they change management
they already have a policy of recycle every series every 5 years...follow japanese
next year would be persona's turn
next next year would be saga
unlike the old management...1 car sell 10 years...lol
but i think they will only cycle 5 car only...persona, saga, exora, waja(inspira) and perdana(this one really dn't know when will come out but is said to be based on nissan fuga)
the others model i think will be left
*
Your recycle policy means they will either replace or FL the existing series?
But I still see Savvy, Satria Neo, old Waja on Proton official website. Or they actually stopped selling just havent really update their website?
Honestly I found Proton website is overloaded with so many car series. Looked very messy. Unlike P2. Only 3 model (Alza, MyVi and TinMilo tongue.gif )

Hey guys I specially register to ask this question...just got my 1.3 FL executive and i noticed there's a bluetooth logo on the player screen but not lit and it never mentioned in the book. also i tried plug my ipod touch and iphone it comes up with 'MNT ERROR'...i read the book it said it's incompatible but can be played if switch the player off and on again??? Anyone can confirm this? my 1st priority is to get my music playing...
*
Being an Apple user for quite some times, I discover that every iOS update, some of the 3rd party player (e.g: car audio) will not be compatible to the Apple product. I seriously doubt Proton will update their stock cd/usb player software. Correct me if I'm wrong.

15inch is oversized? I didnt put 16 or 17inch also...

and I wrong statement... is 195/55 R15

stock FL1.6 tyre n rim size.. 185/60R14 - Alloy
from source: http://carca-marba.blogspot.com/2011/05/ha...saga-fl-16.html

195mm(NEW tyre) - 185mm(STOCK tyre) = 10mm wider

LOL~~ 1 inch = 25.4 milimeters

total diameter of STOCK rim n tyre.. 120mm both side (60mm thickness) + 355.6mm (14inch) = 475.6mm

my NEW rim n tyre diameter... 110mm both side (55mm thickness) + 381mm (15inch) = 491mm

diameter : 491mm - 475.6mm = 15.4mm
radius :15.44mm /2 = 7.7mm

btw, are you sure my 25cents FC is cost by my tyre? 10cents(as u all mention is 15cents per km) extra due to 10mm wider n 7.7mm radius bigger? and This cause my NEW tyre to knock my car body although 1 ppl in car? o.o
*
No idea bout the FC but I can be pretty sure the noise or the bold part happens because of the new rim.
AFAIK BLM stock absorbers are pretty soft. Even my colleague car also got those noise when passing through bumper, driving alone, slim girl somemore.

The socket for the fuel indicator loose =.=

As for the drive shaft being rusty, first gen got that problem, because the dripping water from the aircon wets it.
*
The dripping water I understand but what I meant here was, I saw those rusty at the "stick/batang" connecting the sterring wor. The rusty place is at slighly same level as my brake padel. Still because of the aircon dripping?

Tks 4sharing pics! thumbup.gif
2 questions:
1. Wat is the "Shift Lock Release" button on left of gearshift for? Assume it's to lock/release gearshift? Anti-theft or ? If electrically operated, wat happens if someone (eg a kid?) accidentally presses it while car is being driven? sad.gif
2. Kenot make out where or wat's being shown in last bottom pic... Sorry...

TQ agin 4sharing... rclxms.gif

Added on July 26, 2011, 1:10 pm@zenox0123: Re rusty drive shaft, yu can "sandpaper" off the rust (juz surface rust...actually no danger) and then apply anti-rust coating b4 painting it.

Drive shafts in later BLM/FLs are oledi painted. wink.gif
*
Oh, so I "sandpaper" to remove the rust part just like normally how we remove rust on steel pipe?
Anti-rust can buy at any normal hardware shop? or need to purchase special anti-rust for car at car acc shop?
Thanks.

as for your question.
1. IMHO, i think the shift lock release is like a lock. like anti-theft. I think so. I think u need a key to unlock it if im not mistaken. (but in picture doesnt show) wink.gif
