should be good....1.3L have some underpower problem
the 1.6L should solve all that....no more compesating aircon and power..vice versa
1.6L..u can have cool aircon without sacrificing power
*
I'm used to owned wira 1.6 a/b manual in year 2000. its millenium model. Wira weight is 1060kg rather the 1.6FL is 1075kg. Its show that BLM body more heavier than wira. That cause feeling under power to BLM with 1.3L engine. But BLM should more stable on high speed. thumbup.gif

Always using Mobile or Esso.

Before resetting the ECU, tried 3 tanks of petronas primax95 extra. No improvement or whatsoever on the FC.
*
I would suggest to use 10W-30 or 5W-30 engine oil. My thirsty oto unser use this kind oil, give resonable fc. I'm will used this light weight oil on my 1.6fl.

yep. mine is auto. mine always blink at 230km+-. >_<
oic. i dont know much about engine oil. but someone here recommend that we use the 10W-40 on our BLMs...

is there any downside by using the 10w-30 or 5w-30 oil? if not i would request the SC use that oil on my next service and see how it goes...
*
10w-40 olso thick oil. The measurment it last no 40 which ist refer as 40 weight oil at operating temp. 30 weight oil is better for fc & performance. Small car as viva & kancil use this type engine oil. This not harm your engine unless your engine was high milage as 200k km.. Just try it. Petronas syntium offer 5w - 30 / 4liter for rm97.00

This oil is fully synthetic is it? and is that latest price? and how the get ECU reset? COE need to do appointment? thnx guys  icon_rolleyes.gif

*
That is semi syntetic oil. Syntium 800 5w-30. Price is RM97.00 for 4liter pack. The fully syntetic I Think is Syntium 3000 0w-30 if I'm not wrong. The price is RM200 +.

worth money is good but wont it effect the engine? i dont wana risk my ride... LoL....  icon_question.gif

a few hundred km over the schedule will not harm the engine. unless you try to extend the oil change up to 10,000km with mineral oil. (I thought SC just used mineral oil.)

asking saga blm owner here:

1) what engine oil grade is suggested by the service manual/user manual?
2) can it use semi-synth 5w30 (I accidentally bought a wrong grade of engine oil for my car and I'm thinking of giving it to my GF who own a 1 yr old saga blm 1.3A)
*
Yes, can use it. It not harm your engine. 5W 30 mean, in cold weather which below 5W = 5(F) in winter, the oil will freezing. So if state 10W = 10(F) the oil will freezing. That mean 5W much more better oil than 10W. The last no 30 = mean 30 thick oil on operating temperature (degree celcius). if the no was exp 10W 40.. that mean 40 thick oil on operating temperature. Let say the oil you bought was 5W 30, mean 30 thick oil. This will give less resistent, more pick-up. That is the reason small/compact car using this kind oil.
Btw, on my owner's manual booklet, have revised on using type oil. Proton recomended 10W30 for my 1.6FL. Anyone on 1.6FL can confirm my statement. I dont hv time to upload the revised page by proton right now. May be next time.
Btw my 1.6FL shown 289km while turn to last bar on fuel indicator, but my wife just refill RM40..hehehe so i hv no idea how much little has gone for 289km. smile.gif

thank you for you explanation...

Actually it was the number '30' that worries me as I've never had a car with campro engine but since even proton recommend a '30' for their 1.6 campro, then I believe it should be okay for a puny 1.3 campro. Thanks again!

Then in text, it states :
"2. Use engine oil conforming to the following API classification: SAE20W-50 or equivalent API "For services SJ" or higher.

Note: Using engine oil with a lower API classification will void the warranty."[SIZE=7]

Now what do yu think all that meant? whistling.gif:

Added on July 2, 2011, 4:03 pmps. Manual is printed on OCT 2010 (Stated on Back Cover).
*
Lower API Classification : When Proton recomended gred API "For Services SJ", & you are using LOWER than SJ , exp SG/SF/SE. That wil void the warranty.

hmm.....do u think is quite high the fc? compare to 1.3?

That FC figure was taken on run-in period, beside the car is using in city driving condition (school/office/home) with 1 adult + with 4 kids (12 ~ 5 years) every day. Hopefully getting better fc after this.
