ok, just added you to 1.6 FL list..

we are looking forward to hear your review about the carĀ  rclxms.gif

Hehe, one week review so far:

Good:

1) I test drove the 1.3 but ordered the 1.6 (no 1.6 available for test driving that time), and comparing the two, I can really notice the extra oomph at lower end. 1.3 was like banyak bising but not a lot of movement, but 1.6 gives you a decent amount of push-you-into-your-seat torque (not a lot mind you, but more than enough for me).

2) Handling is brilliant! The same corners I take with my sister's 08 Honda City I have to watch out for body roll. Even though the Saga is built the same shape (tall boxy sedan), the roll was much less. Proton can count this among their strengths.

3) FC-wise, so far, my clock shows 100KM and 1.1 fuel bars gone. Taking into account that it had about 50KM on it when I got it, that means 1 bar = roughly 50 KM, which means 6 bars = 300KM. Not spectacular, but my Wira's full tank only gave me 120KM, and I really don't travel that much anyway so FC not a huge deal for me (one of the reasons why I took the Saga tongue.gif )

4) Space is very good. I'm 6'2", I'm comfortable in the front, and I can get out and sit in the back as well. My passenger can stretch his/her legs in the footwell and still not touch the edge. All tall people, too.

5) Generous side-mirror size. Only when I started using this car did I notice how much I appreciate large side mirror view.

6) Interior ranges between decent and good. You still get one or two reminders that you're in a budget sedan (like the USB/AUX port section and the cupholder separator), but otherwise the quality and finish is good for this price point.

Bad:

1) Campro engine. Okay this isn't really a bad, but it takes some getting used to. The high revving nature of the Campro is quite different from my previous Wira or my mom's Kelisa, so for now my driving is still a bit slow and awkward tongue.gif

2) Brakes could use a bit more strength. Maybe this is also something to get used to, but for new drivers, I suggest to take some time and get used to the brake strength first before you drive in car-filled roads. You may not react adequately during an emergency brake otherwise.

3) There's this weird thing happening to my car, where if I'm driving at say 60+ km/h and I slow down by braking, the engine will reduce its rev (normal), then suddenly increase (this is the wierd part). The revving sensation is exactly like you're pressing on the accelerator while the car is in neutral. I'm calling my SA tomorrow to see if I can get it looked at, but for now, anyone have this before? Is this a Campro thing? Or a known issue? Or just me?

4) Some of the cost-cutting measures are really weird. You give me audio controls, but I don't have auto-lock. My car doesn't even auto-unlock when I turn off the engine! Even in the 90s they had that.

Questions:
1) The lock thing I mentioned in (4), is that normal? Also, I heard that we can get a brake-activated autolock done for the car, is there a place to do it? And will it void warranty?
2) The weird revving thing, is this normal?

Forgot to add! For those of you planning to buy and looking for a good SA, I highly recommend my SA, En. Mahathir (yes, I know, I made fun of his name too smile.gif ) in SS2. HP No. 0126339410. Polite, knows his facts, didn't bash Perodua just to make a sale, and helped me to put a rush on the bank loan paperwork because he knew I was in a hurry (didn't expect to find a buyer for my Wira so fast)

One month into owning FL 1.6, already visit SC once >.<

But it was to check an issue with engine revving, SC say can't duplicate issue, if occur again come back, we will get engineer to drive with you. Standard reply la that one.

Otherwise, doing great. FC wise, didn't really calculate the first time, now using the tripmeter to see. Of course not expecting much, didn't buy this car for the FC.

Now just need to send my baby for a car wash tongue.gif
