QUOTE(mysoo @ Jul 2 2011, 10:14 PM) I'm driving a saga FL 1.3 exec auto for about 3 weeks so far everthing fine. wheel 1 inch wider 14". No issue with IAFM or suspension. Before I bought this I'm choosing between new Myvi or saga. Quite hesitate to buy saga due to all the news about the IAFM and aircon sound. But the salesman assure me, the new FL should not have this problem or he will bring my car personally to Glemarie if it's happened. So far everthing ok. I hv the same model fr Apr this year. Like yu, so far so good...touch wood!! However, IAFM probs don't come so early. So we're NOT really (as the saying goes) "out of the woods" yet! BLMs were out since 2008, rite? Hopefully, Proton had taken affirmative steps and sufficient & positive improvements hv been made in that area so as to uplift Proton's image in eyes of Msian public & the motoring world at large! Only then can Proton steadily regain its position as the #1 local vehicle manufacturer that it was once upon a time! : This post has been edited by zeone: Jul 2 2011, 10:41 PM

QUOTE(mysoo @ Jul 2 2011, 10:35 PM) What! Don't scare me bro. You mean the IAFM still have problem? I invest 90% of my saving in this car. No one can say 100% that it's well & truly gone... I hope so...and so are those who hv invested their hard-earned $$$ in a BLM/FL eg you & me AND God knows how many more...? Only time can tell...

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Jul 3 2011, 01:36 AM) in theory...last time proton already resolved the IAFM problem it was the push rod....the IAFM isn't broken...it's just have that annoying "tak tak tak" sound only the IAFM is actually working fine....it doesn't broke that easily it's whether u can stand the annoying noise only Yup, it's mainly PLASTIC!! : Mayb Proton shld label IAFM-equipped cars as " Hybrid Diesel" cars?? Haha! AND claim for us owners those diesel engine rebates? BTW Good Morning to ALL!!

FC values are NOT constants... esp with so many variables... Added on July 3, 2011, 12:40 pmRe the Castrol EO, feel they are Genuine. Don't think Tesco wld dare advertise them in National papers @those sp prices if they are NOT! Agreed? The only difference is the Source...Tesco ones are " Manufactured in the EU". Added on July 3, 2011, 12:44 pmBTW anyone knows if there is any " SHELF LIFE" or Expiry Date for engine oils? TQ. This post has been edited by zeone: Jul 3 2011, 12:44 PM

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Jul 4 2011, 10:02 PM) i dn't think that makes a difference if u want to pump more...easy...just select the pump opposite your car saga's pump is on the right side....so u go pump on the left side...in that way the leftover fuel inside the hose will flow into your car instead of left inside the hose the speed of u pumping also critical...not too slow not too fast Yup, I really really saw 1 guy LIFTING UP HIGH the pump hose after filling up b4 putting back the pump filler handle!! NO joke wan!!!

QUOTE(gagak_84 @ Jul 4 2011, 11:02 PM) Fully synthethic below RM140 is very bad quality of Fully.. first time i heard fully RM95.. please check whether that oil is imitation. used 10w40 enough already for ur blm. Re Castrol Edge being sold @ Tesco all over the country, I doubt it that such a BIG company chain wld risk its reputation in selling "Bad" Fully Synthetic oil...esp when it dares to publicise it on National newspapers... Even date of manufacture is printed on bottles..... ps. 1 reason why I was asking if there is any " Shelf Life" for engine oils.... This post has been edited by zeone: Jul 4 2011, 11:10 PM

QUOTE(barnhammer @ Jul 4 2011, 11:27 PM) Bardahl is a very old brand in the 1980's up to today. Recent checks, its a Group -III oil but heavily refined by BHP. Castrol Edge get thiers from BHP, its suppose to be a Group IV, but some are Group III, only lab testing can prove this. True Fully Sunythetic oils are AmSoil, and some others. Base IV and base V esters. So how does the " Man-in-the-street"/common car owner know which oils are truly fully synthetic? What we only hv are the Brand names and the API classification (eg SM?). Can such BIG names like Mobil, Castrol, etc, wrongly label their Fully Synthetic oils when they are not?

Still on the issue of shock absorbers, are Monroes eg Sensatrac series, now available for BLMs/FLs? They are good, reliable & most importantly, AFFORDABLE!! 2 sets lasted >250k Km!

QUOTE(koh_424 @ Jul 8 2011, 01:39 PM) Sry to tell u tat SC wun give warranty for the fog lamp. I have claim mine once which same happen with u. But they said tis thing no warranty. So end up i need to pay for the new fog lamp. So...did yu pay? For a replacement... Warranty coverage & its T&C are very open & subject to individual interpretations... In case yu need2, as per earlier suggestion, use clear silicone sealant eg Selleys/Bostik, to seak arnd gap between front & rear covers of spotlamp. Dry insides first using hairdryer? Added on July 8, 2011, 1:53 pmCorrection: ...to seal arnd...NOT "to seak..." sorry... This post has been edited by zeone: Jul 8 2011, 01:53 PM

QUOTE(Aztec @ Jul 8 2011, 06:30 PM) hey guys..need some help..my car is now on 18,800km..and im going to penang on monday thought of servicing my car tmrw but as u know.. BERSIH rally so cant really go KL..wondering if any service centres open on sunday? or should is it possible to do major service at shell service station? i know major service should be at 20k but kinda worried for the long haul trip.. thanks! IMHO it's ok to exceed mileage for due services...esp more so if yr car has been regularly serviced & well-maintained in the past. So no worries...yu can do the service when yu return...

QUOTE(jeffro @ Jul 8 2011, 10:00 PM) Hi all, today is my unlucky day where my saga got into a minor accident and got some scratches and peels.. Does anyone know when I can do a small paint job? Either at any center or DIY also I don't mind. If anyone know, mind telling me? My eyes hurt when I see the scratch Want yr ride looking as good as new? Get it corrected/re-painted by good professional!! DIY will NVR do that...mayb cover it up or a temporary measure only. Sorry... ps. Me personally saw wat the results are from a good professionally done job. My relative's new FL was involved in a butt-hit case and after the repair/re-paint, I wld NOT know or see so if I'd not known abt it earlier!! The rear bumper area looked really NEW...once more!!

QUOTE(sg999 @ Jul 9 2011, 11:10 AM) hey guy my car now is 30000km and i found that the front wheel almost botak oledi but rear wheel still got alot deep "flower" so izit good if i exchange rear wheel to front? and front to rear? OR just replace the front wheel with new wheel? Replacing front worn tyres with NEW ones is a better option esp for FWD cars...
