Both also more or less the same. However go for the W8960N. Its latest and don't need much config.

isnt W8960N is [TP-LINK TD-W8960N 2/2+ RT 4 N300 rm135] a router modem?

May I know with or without the custom firmware?
May I know what "switch" are you referring to?
You mean those UniFi contractor didn't test the connection for you?
TL-WR841ND is Atheros chip, if I'm not mistaken, dd-wrt has problem create multiple vlans on port-level for Atheros & Ralink.
For Broadcom, can create at port, but somehow have problem on vlan ID more than 2 digits.

So if you flash TL-WR841ND to dd-wrt, yes you may lose the IPTV.

Btw, why do you want to flash it since it has custom firmware for UniFi?

thanks klseet.. but if i wanted to have a router with dd-wrt but dont wan to lose IPTV possible? btw wat is the usage for VLAN? if 841ND is not recommended for VLAN which one is good?

Erm... Klseet. I'm thinking... After i get 841ND with custom firmware, can i actually flash dir615 with ddwrt to monitor usage? As i know ddwrt has quite nice usage monitoring feature. Can I make it as bridge or something before 841ND then monitor the usage? Just in case when quota is implemented. haha
*
ya possible?
but my router modem is RG TMRND (Gen1.0)
possible?

From klseet's unifi router replacement option between TPLink TD -W8960N and Asus RT-N13U, does anyone knows which one has a stronger wifi signal strength?

My current TM wifi router is downstairs and the signal strength upstairs is not very good. If I want to change, I want to make sure I'm changing to one that gives a stronger wifi signal.
*
yea the stupid wifi router given to me the signal to 1st floor is not very strong.. i'm looking for either 841ND or 941ND so that i can replace a 9dbi signal antenna... now i still thinking whether possible to have 841ND(ddwrt monitor traffic) handle the wifi sharing to my upper & lower floor PCs..and to maintain iptv.. any possible way? is it by bridging the TM modem?
