QUOTE(yanhui95 @ Jul 3 2011, 06:44 PM) How much is the tp link ? Is it a replacement router or is it and extra to boost the wifi signal? Bought my TPLink841ND at Low yat RM85. Nice people there even flashed the customised bios for me. Greater wifi signal than Dlink with 5dBi antenna - signal can reach second floor and neighbour's house This post has been edited by alnaoh: Jul 4 2011, 11:08 AM

The Star TechCentral: Tuesday August 2, 2011 MYT 5:03:00 PM Submarine-cable fault causes slow Internet speeds
PETALING JAYA: Streamyx and Unifi broadband service users in the country can expect to experience intermittent service disruptions until Sunday.
The Internet service provider Telekom Malaysia Bhd is carrying out maintenance work on the Asia-America Gateway submarine cable that links Malaysia to the United States and North Asia after detecting a fault on Sunday night.
According to a statement posted by TM on its website, www.tm.com.my, repair work started yesterday.
Streamyx users are likely to experience slow browsing speeds when accessing websites hosted in the United States and North Asia.
Customers using virtual private networks and other critical business applications linked to the United States, Europe and North Asia may also experience some level of service degradation, TM said.
Proactive measures have been taken to minimise the impact, such as diverting traffic to other networks to lessen congestion, it added.

QUOTE(nonameNo @ Aug 2 2011, 11:29 PM) i know the standard TM RG is unstable and causing disconnection (correct me if wrong). what modem do you guys using? i prefer to purchase a new modem to replace the standard modem... once and for all. less headache. Based on klseet.com, bought TP-Link TL-WR841ND from Lowyat for <RM90. Get the seller to flash the customised firmware for you. Used 24/7 since June 2011 with no problems. Good wifi signal with the 2x5dBi antennas, i.e., can receive signal upstairs, at neighbour's house ...... Low cost, low headache, replacement option.
