Tomino-sensei, I want you back to direct Gundam series!!!!

For me, his Z Gundam series is the best Gundam series of all time.
Not to mention his legendary work Char's Counterattack. I loved the early UC (before F91) timeline settings and their series. To me, they are more real as they emphasize on the reality of war from many perspectives (although the graphics isn't that good)

ZZ is more for kids. I think he created ZZ to accommodate for kids (kids ratings increased, but adult ratings decreased from the statistics). Also maybe because he needed to relieve the viewers tension from watching Z, haha! However, the story shifted into a more serious theme in the latter half series... quite good tho.

As for F91, its intended to be a series, but somehow got cancelled and condensed into a movie instead, hence the poor story plot.

I think V is quite awesome though, ppl always compare V with Z, though I haven't watched V.

The first one (0079) really wasn't that awesome as compared to its successors, but it became a benchmark for:
Other Gundam series, Char-Amuro saga, and most important of all, the first ever Real Robot Series. I really agree that its inferior to the other series, but at its time, its considered to be a revolutionary anime series as compared to the other Super Robot Series. More focus on character devs, emotions, removed the clear cut good and evil theme, realistic technologies and surroundings and so on. As a Gundam fan, I feel obliged to respect 0079. hhahaha

The only thing I don't like about Turn A is its mech design ( I heard its designed by a Canadian). Others are ok, refs from other series, and Park Romi as the seiyuu.. nice

0080 made me cry.. I liked that series.

I won't watch AGE until I finish the other G series. I'll just take it as an obligation as a fan to watch every single G series. IMO, the SD series are even better than AGE haha.

Oh, they have a thread? I gotta check it out. Its not that I hate AU series ( I don't), I love Gundam and other mechas. Out of all Gundam, I just love UC series in particular (more than AU). Basically, call me weird or what, but I love old stuffs (mostly la), be it anime or what.

I agree with you, the animation quality for those old series sucks, but after watching the series I actually went on to read their mangas and short novels/ graphic novels.

Gundam: Tomino didn't expect Char to be that famous. Also, he didn't intend to make a sequel for that.
Z : Char gets more screentime than Amuro! Kamille, a super-duper mega ultra emo boy, but at least he's better than Shinn. My most fav G TV series.
ZZ : Very childish and comedic, unlike the previous series (intended for kids). however, it gets serious at the latter
half of the series.
CCA: The best, of the best, when Char meets Amuro, again! Also featured the first CG scene in Gundam.
0080: Good OVA with a new perspective. The ending part made me cry T__T
F91 : Poorly directed, due to its story line being condensed to a single movie. Could've been better if its tv series is not cancelled.
V : Haven't watched yet.
0083: Very interesting series. This is how Titans is formed.
G : Super Robot G Gundam! Many ppl hate this, but I think its okay. Just don't treat it as Gundam, or take it as a new approach in a new Gundam universe. (Neo Malaysia has a Gundam!! Skull Gundam if I were not mistaken)
Wing: The first bishounen G series. One of my fav. AU series.
X : haven't watched yet.
08th MS Team: A great series. Everything seems more realistic and balanced.
Turn A : Haven't watched.
G-Saviour : don't talk about it...... Wanna mass produce food in the movie?? my gawd.
Seed: A decent series by Fukuda, quite nice.
Seed Destiny: the first G series I watched. At first I was like OMG this is so good. After watching the older series, I think its one of the worst ever. Even Seed was better.
Stargazer: didn't watch.
MS IGLOO 1 & 2: Very interesting OVA. Tells you from the perspective of a Zeon (enemy) MS engineer. Many testing MSes.
MS IGLOO 3: Even more realistic. Story about EF soldiers fighting against Zeon's new Zaku II and other MS using bazooka, tanks and early Guntank models.
00 : never watched
Unicorn: Quite nice. I like the way they design the characters. Looks like those hairstyles from the 80's. Very diff from Setsuna's hairstyle.
AGE: huh?


Others I have watched:
SD Gundam Force : Nice and entertaining overall. Cute Gundams
Gunpla Builders: So-so only. Different universe where ppl battle each other using Gunpla models (reminds me of Yu Gi Oh)
