They already did. Gundam AGE will tell about the main character using Gundam to fight with alien race named 'UE'.
Don't worry, there will be no songstress singing while dancing in front of the battleship head or some dude controlling gundam using guitar while singing some rock n roll dream. (except for the songstress idea already been ripped off since Gundam Seed *cough*Lacus&Meer*cough)

Its Beginning Gundam G. Its my most favourite show among all the Gundam series.
