That's pretty stupid idea.
I'm in the middle of writing a journal collaborate with some overseas researcher. I have to send them my references in Endnote format through fileserve/megaupload because is almost 40mb... cant send through email.

Now Malaysia, whats next? rapidshare? Do you think by merely blocking those fileserver we can reduce privacy? Retarded ministry....

i believe this result of najib's visit to usa before. in exchange for something (dunno what) najib agreed to enforce this policy quickly. expect more site to be blocked. however since he just need the outward appearance of doing it, i doubt the SKMM asked isps to block all possible way to use those website. so this mean SKMM will ignore those that using public dns or vpn to bypass this.

Blame the pirates. You are probably the handful of people using file hosting for non-illegal usage.

Anyway, privacy or piracy?

Ops... typo... yeah... mid-day dilemma.... too much work with no coffee

But then do you really think pirates were responsible for that? If I really want to cetak rompak something, I just go to singapore or thailand, once a month, bring along a HDD / few SD card, download from counterparts from those country, bring back, burn and sell. No big deal, can travel some more...

I think they try to avoid some sort of political propaganda/ circulation of somebody's leaked sex tape of local-high-profile-people...

its like punishing the innocent along with the guilty ones. see how you like it if you in that kind of situation and you are on the innocent side.

for example : a whole block of apartment was cut off from electricity because of few apartment owner didnt pays their bills. yet you, who always pays the bill on time is also got your electric cut off too.
