Don't over charge it, overnight charging is bad, when the charge is over say 95%, it's time to stop.

ipad uses lithium ion which isnt the same as olden days batteries nemore. draining out 100% will kills the battery. usually smart device nowadays will turn off itself before the battery run 100% out. so, just charge whenever you feel like it.

google for further info.

U guys are outdated, lit ion battery doesn't have memory effect.

Guides suggest that short charge is better than long charge, so when ur iPad is at 70% and u are not using it. Just let it charge this prolong the life of the battery, instead of long hour of usage then only chanrge. Google it

This is not brick phone this is an iPad

Its on the apple website where they suggest users to drain out the batt completely once a month and recharge it to the max. If it kills the battery the they ought to get flamed lol

The iPad needs more power than the iTouch/iPhone to charge effectively. Most computers do not supply enough power though the USB port to charge it, so most of the time you'll get the "Not charging" message.

Just use the supplied dock connector that comes with your iPad and charge it with the wall charger, you won't go wrong with that.

can any body please tell me how long to charge for first time and following.
note: for Ipad2.

Added on November 17, 2011, 8:32 pmwhat the below statement mean?

Once a month, you should perform a full charge cycle to ensure proper reporting from the battery indicator. To do this simply charge the battery to 100% and then use your iPad until the battery completely depletes (iPad turns off automatically at 0%). Then charge as you would normally do.

as i know it is better non let the ipad batery below 20%.
