spent 2 hours on it. great game. my only gripe is the controls feel too 'tight'. might need some getting used to.

Been playing this like mad last night and I've FINALLY unlocked the Online mode.
All I can say is, if you guys want to co-op you need to spend at least 3+ hours of rushing through the story in order to unlock the Online mode. Before that you can only multiplay through locally on the same machine. Here's the best part, you need to unlock the online mode for EVERY GOD DAMN CHARACTER YOU MAKE. Conclusion: This function alone made me very disappointed with the game such as this when it boasts so much about co-op play. I mean playing locally etc is fine and all but we're already at the age where online play is equally as important. Edit - Forgot to add on, for the people who wants to know about the dual audio stuffs on the R1. The dual audio works FOR CHARACTERS ONLY so far, the narrator and etc are all in English and can't be changed. You can change the narrator so I would assume it'll be those DLCs and stuffs, most likely this would include the JP narrator in the future but for now it's not available. All the NPCs you bring are all in English, the only JP voice you'll be hearing is probably yourself(since you can set it upon character creation) and maybe the other people who made their chars with JP voices. QUOTE(East_Bound @ Jul 31 2013, 09:58 AM) I have no idea as I've not completed the campaign/story yet but judging from how the game works, the Online-play can only be unlocked after you've progressed to that part of the story. If you don't have access to that yet, you can say goodbye to Online-play. Edit - If there are any PSV players out there, will you kindly fill me/us in on how would your Online-Play works ? Because I'll be damned if you can only play with others the moment you progressed to that point of the story as I mentioned. I would assume it might be that way too because that's when you can access to the "Lobby". This post has been edited by Sora: Jul 31 2013, 10:07 AM |

So i noticed playasia changed the details for the dragon's crown pages. R1 versions with artbook more expensive and no free shipping, R3 english don't even have any artbook listed. Will those that pre-ordered before they changed it still get what they want?

You can either enter straight to the dungeon and it will let you partake any ongoing game at maximum 4 players, or you can just select the 1st option from your start menu while your online mode is on, it let you join randomly. The second one is to invite your friends, probably set yourself up as host (I haven't tried as I just joined randomly atm), the 3rd is the ADHOC mode. Basically, you can join everyone who have enabled their online mode, and even join in the dungeons they host which you haven't beaten (said, B-route), well, you have to choose which route to take after all. But you better gear up as B-route is harder than A-route if you haven't beaten it before. And if you choose the route different from others, then I believe you'll be re assign to another party who is playing the same route as long as you can still fit in... I don't know if it will continue your game when it couldn't detect others playing or you're just returned to Gate screen etc, since I usually choose the same route in the same session. Note: Beating the B-route of a dungeon in others' game, don't count as you clear the B-route yourself if you haven't done so, unless you are the one who host the dungeon and somebody else join in helping you to clear it. BUT Mission objective DOES count! This post has been edited by El-LoboSolitario: Jul 31 2013, 10:47 AM |

QUOTE(El-LoboSolitario @ Jul 31 2013, 10:26 AM) By reaching a certain level you mean when you reach to a certain part of the story right ?Anyway, as for the Online lobby I was only prompt 2 options since I'm playing the PS3 version. It was either join a room randomly or join a friend's room. Judging from the Friend's room part, it's like you'll be only able to join their room if it's there or something. Not sure how this works since I've only unlocked it not too long ago and none of my friends reached this far yet. I also tried to join random games but it kept failing me for some reason, after that I just gave up as it was constantly disturbing me when it was trying to "sync" while I was halfway through a dungeon. But as of now, I still have no damn idea how to tell the difference between a hoster or people who joined in your game/etc. Will try it out again tonight and see. Yes, see the spoiler in my previous post, that's the part you'll unlock online feature after you progress your story(Note: Sora, I think I might have misunderstood the point you made... YES, You are right, every new character will start a new, means NEW adventure, have to unlock SEPARATELY each character (since after online mode is unlocked, there is no way you can use your lvl 1 character to fight in a lvl 17 dungeon) BUT the items/equipment ARE SHARED among the characters! So far no issue joining random session... I haven't had a chance to try the 2nd option as I am the only person playing it now... BUT the advantage of PS3 over vita is you can have 2~3 players join in immediately i.e. ask your brother/neighbors/gf Also, you may want to head back to your HQ to see if you have turned off your partner slots... For one mission, it forces you to clear a stage single-handily, so it's important you turning it back on after all or nobody can join you including NPC... I believe being host is using the Wagon to select a dungeon and wait for someone else to join in or the npc. Using Join randomly option = using the gate exit (random destination after all) I also believe RED indicator atop characters' head is the host, the rest are NPC/random/buddy players(blue, green & yellow). Move cursor and highlight the sprite will show you their PSN ID, I think... This post has been edited by El-LoboSolitario: Jul 31 2013, 11:21 AM |

The unlocking part that is, cause I was wondering if you could like just play ad-hoc from the beginning or something. Also, you can just create a new character and head into the "Gate screen" to play online right ? It felt like I needed to be in that new unlocked area before I can play online. So I assumed that we needed to progress through to that point of the story before we can play online with that said character, it'll be really stupid if that's the case. Though I honestly think that this is quite a flaw on the online part, it feels like they should have it like Castle Crasher's style. Where if you create a multiplayer game, anyone can just drop in and out anytime or whatever else it'll be just a single player game. |

Where if you create a multiplayer game, anyone can just drop in and out anytime or whatever else it'll be just a single player game. I had misunderstood your point and made clarification! You were right for saying EACH Character has to unlock their own Online play (I was interpreting that you need to complete all characters story mode in order to play online It's not flawed... it's just how the story is played out... I have mentioned the reason why in my clarification, you'll know why you can't start a fresh character and head out straight hoping you can join online play (recalled they have stated that they will allocate players based on their character level, so you won't see a huge difference in LVL among the players)! Of what I have gathered so far, the difference of Vita VS PS3 are just the frame rate, touch screen, ADHOC vs multi-controllers (perhaps the structure of the online mode is different?)... Content wise, they are all the same... This post has been edited by El-LoboSolitario: Jul 31 2013, 11:38 AM |

I was hoping I was wrong, but I guess not. But yeah, I see what you mean but regardless I really don't think they should restrict players like that. I mean, I just want to play with friends online at my own free will. What's the problem in that ? Why would the developers have to restrict me to such conditions just to not see a huge level difference ? Because I'm sure as hell they can come up with better filtering system or what not in order to go through with the "same level in the same area" kind of thing. I can't imagine how would this turn out when the game turns really old, most of the players(pubs) would be super high level and when a newbie starts off playing he won't get to find anyone to play with. And yeah, I heard the frame rate is bad on the PSV. Is it really that bad ? This post has been edited by Sora: Jul 31 2013, 11:39 AM |

And yeah, I heard the frame rate is bad on the PSV. Is it really that bad ? The thing is once you unlock your online mode, if you notice the recommended level is different from before the online mode is enable? You will even see the B-Route! It's no longer lvl 3 for the first dungeon... It's 17!!! It's impossible to beat it with a lvl 1 character, well, not that it let me try... But still even at few lvl higher than recommended lvl, it can get overwhelming sometimes (in fact, it's the equipment that makes the difference, and what is the requirement? Character LVL!) Well, honestly, the survival of low level character is pretty slim as you get lvled up only after battle, and a high level in a low level dungeon will just break the game... Good thing is you can lvl up pretty fast if doing right... But guess what, I wonder if the player in normal difficulty can join the game of higher difficulty, that I haven't tried (talking about the 35~40ish)! A side note, as PS3 doesn't have touch function, I bet offensive runes are just pretty much useless most of the time in single player mode About frame rate being bad? Well, hardly notice, and even if it does get bad, it's when the situation gets out of control and I really wanted it go slow on me for I can take a breath in the chaos (a con about the DC I realized, is having too many sorceress/wizards in a game can be a curse than bless, they are just too "flashy" and really getting in the way...)
