Just wanna survey.. Who are using travel adapter or step down transformer? Gonna get the wii u tomorrow.

I was using a step down, but after about 1-2 hours, it got too hot and my Wii U shutdown.

Then i decided to buy a local adapter and so far so good...

If there is a few games and controller included for sure get it 2nd hand. If not first hand.
Get the Wii U. It is more family oriented. Nintendo games are a lot better when it comes to family fun time.
Games like Wii Party U, Nintendoland, Mario 3D World, New Super Mario Bros.U and Luigi U are super fun to be played with around 4 people in localplay.

Agree with you bro.
I had a PS3 and did not have any game that I feel comfortable to play with my kid (too violent)

Whereas now when I got Wii U, my wife starts to play Nintendoland and Wii Sports Club.
My kids laughs a lot when he sees us play. Looking forward to Mario Kart 8.

Sad to read Wii U in last place recently (compared to X1 and PS4). Hope Nintendo can break out of it.

Do you have a picture or direct link to lelong shop that sell the adapter? Already search local adapter on lelong, but no results.

By the way, where all of you buy the wii u accessories? like gamepad protector or screen protector

I bought from this guy here:

or visit

Agree with you, I was a Xbox360, PS3, Wii owner..
Though I enjoyed all of them, at heart I still love Nintendo games more.
They have 'magic' or 'heart' that is missing from many games today.

Furthermore, you are correct, my whole family also loves to play Nintendo games.

Wii U is not the best selling or popular, but in my mind, the games I truly like are on this system

That one is for EU not North America.. There is only Pikmin 3, Wind Waker HD, NSMBU and Wii Party U for NA.
*
Crap! Why NA offers less attractive than EU version?? I've got 2 out of 4 games there

Piracy was very rampant during the Wii/DS period.
Remember the R4 card?
Most pirated ones came from Eastern Europe, so they kinda enforced region lock for 3DS to minimise spread of piracy (of course smart hackers still can find a way, but compared to DS it is kinda less)

As for Wii U, not sure why wanna region lock. It is same since the NES days.

Perhaps one day, Nintendo can consider South East Asia as a Region and have a central office set up to make sure it gets games from JP/US/EUR. If they employ people, I want to sign-up!! :-)

Great advice for people new to Wii U. Honestly more better quality games than what X1 and PS4 have at the moment (this will change by next year)

Taking into the account the PS4 cost so much more and  the Wii U has the gamepad, the Wii U is a very attractive option.

Nintendo basically sacrifice the hardware specs for the gamepad. Whether it is a smart move or not is yet to be seen. So far for me, Wii U>Ps4. PS4 is just a juiced up PS3 with close to none exclusive games.

I agree that Wii U currently have more interesting games that I want to play than PS4.
Hardware wise, it is fine.
Since PS3 and Xbox360, the graphics have reached a stage where the leap in graphics are not as dramatic (EG: SNES -> N64 or PS2 -> PS3).

What developers have neglected is fun and gameplay. They seem to focus too much on graphics, technical specs (60fps, 1080p!) etc...

I still love the old school 8 bit and 16 bit era. Hard games but they are so memorable and fun.
Nowadays, games are commonly mature hardcore shooters and 3rd person stuffs.

Where's the fun?
