Guys, I'm getting a US Wii U. I see people reported it works without any adapter.
Any guy here really tried the US Wii U on 220 V for a few days without any issue ? Because if it wasnt dual voltage, it should have fried instantly I think, the same happened with original Wii, and the adapter would melt/smoke instantly.
I google the issue, and it's hard to find any info about it except you guys and some blog on IGN that says it's really 110-240V.

Exactly, so I think it's really dual voltage, else it would have burnt completely.

I can attest you don't need a stepdown transformer, I just tried the US Wii U, which says 110 V on both adapters (gamepad and Wii U), and it works perfectly on a 220 V plug plugged DIRECTLY, using the original US 110V adapters.
I guess Nintendo is bullshitting saying it's 110V only because it works flawlessly...

Step down converter is useless, don't be scared to get rid of it. I've been playing Wii U since I have it without any step down converter and it's perfectly fine.
