That's kinda odd. But I shouldn't be that surprised though.

QUOTE(Jon C. @ Jan 31 2014, 10:52 AM)
Yeah I plugged in a travel adapter, on that day I was updating the console's software via its update option and after around 3 - 4 hours around 2pm I heard the pop sound that usually happens during a short circuit, shortly after that I smell something burned inside the console and I could not turn on the console any more. I have been using the said adapter for over a year and don't have any problems with electricity supply until that day. I feel that I got a defective console because I think Nintendo's well known for their durability of their Gameboy video game handhelds and previous consoles and in this case it isn't and I feel disappointed that I can't get a repair service from Nintendo itself  sad.gif
*
It's not the console's fault. It's the travel adapter's.

Yup. The infamous EKK. Frankly speaking, 1 in 10,000 is a defective unit. heck, even I recommend it to others to use it when I was selling the WiiU last year (As a SAFER means). That's a stepdown converter.

But of all the 12 people who bought the WiiU from me, 10 used a travel adapter they got from Sri Computers at Lowyat. And all 10 are still ok.

Trust me, it's the converter's fault.

if already mentioned no need stepdown adapter then why still need the converter to use by some of them?
*
EKK is supposed to be "safer" mah. Sure, the WiiU punya adapter is multivoltage, but it can't hurt to be on the safe side.

What am I? God? laugh.gif

kidding kidding. I don't believe there is any way to change the language. Especially since it's a US machine anyways. Since the machine is country dependant, it wouldn't have the capabilities as we would want it to have.

Hihi,

I'm getting a Wii U this week. smile.gif

1) Would like to know if the games (physical) require installations like most of the PS3 games do?

2) Can you backup game save datas via USB Flash Drives like the PS3?
Thank you.
*
1. Nope.

2. I don't think this is possible. But I'm not too certain on this.

Much appreciated, Rei7.

So it's safe to use USB Flash Drives and External HDD that does not have an external power source?

Oh yeah, does setting the country of residence to Canada allow you to use US eShop Prepaid cards as well?  Or does Canada have their own eShop cards?
*
Nein on the Canada one. They are supposed to have their own cards. But I have never seen them.

Oh, ok.  Thanks, Kyoyagami.

Will be getting MH3U first and then Super Mario 3D World later on.

Hopefully, the initial setup for the Wii U setup isn't too difficult.
*
Nah. It won't be. At least from my experience it was pretty snappy.

That's good to know.  Thanks. smile.gif

Btw, does anyone know where I can get the Wii U Pro Controller (black) or the Wii Classic Controller Pro (black)?
I need to try out how the gamepad feels first but I'm considering getting one of them.

Also, considering getting the Wii LAN Adapter but need to test out my wifi connection's stability to the Wii U as well first.
*
if you need them, i'd have to order them.

But do your initial testing first. That's important as well. I can say you won't regret getting a WIIU Pro Controller though (with it's superb battery life).

Yeah, I'm leaning towards the Wii U Pro Controller too due to the long battery life.  As for the Wii Classic Controller Pro, the control mapping it's kinda similar to the Dualshock 3 which is why I'm considering that one as well.

How much do these accessories (official/original) usually cost?
*
The Pro Controller is at RM 150. The classic controller should be cheaper. But again, it depends on the game you're playing as well. To see what works, check the back of the game box.
