you'll need to work on your flash diffuser and dof as most of pic... flash very harsh and thin dof.
#2 , #5 and #9 would be a keeper shoots, they should look great if there's more dof and better control of flash / diffusion. my noob 2 cent. |

i hope to find a tamron sp af90 soon too... hopefully used one will do .u don't use any other gear is it? just the sp 90 can get those sharpness & closeness? mind sharing what is the closes distance u can get with the lens ? Some shot i addon raynox. i hope to find a tamron sp af90 soon too... hopefully used one will do .u don't use any other gear is it? just the sp 90 can get those sharpness & closeness? mind sharing what is the closes distance u can get with the lens ? (e.g: subject to lens glass distance for example) |

fansoption, if I add a raynox dcr-250 on top of SP AF 90, what would be the focal length and the MFD? How close can I be to the subject?

You can go camera shop try raynox on your sp90 then you can feel it the focal length and how close to the subject What do I need to add to be able to see the compound eyes of an insect? haha naiss.. i used to take the polystyrene, cut a hole, then put on the lens. it diffuse light quite good, but it's always blocking the way.. haha. now i do it like this

I been following this thread enjoying your pleasant beautiful macro shot. Recently I bought sigma ex 105mm macro lens to fit with my Sony A57. Just few question pre-shot macro.
1. Do you using macro mode on sony or Manual Mode? 2. Do you ever tried macro ring light as light source? Thx you. |

i guess what you need is abit more DOF on your macros...
perhaps u could try stacking ? very nice light tho.. i miss the good old days back in uni when i have all the free time i like to take macros...sighhh working life suckssss |
