I been following this thread enjoying your pleasant beautiful macro shot. Recently I bought sigma ex 105mm macro lens to fit with my Sony A57. Just few question pre-shot macro.
1. Do you using macro mode on sony or Manual Mode?
2. Do you ever tried macro ring light as light source?

i guess what you need is abit more DOF on your macros...
perhaps u could try stacking ?
very nice light tho..
i miss the good old days back in uni when i have all the free time i like to take macros...sighhh working life suckssss
