Typical Android fanboy response...."android is not like the iphone"

Actually in android, you've got a choice of how you want to transfer your songs into your phone. One of it is direct copy and paste. You can also use doubletwist or winamp app which can transfer your media files without cables!

In iOS platform, you are pretty much locked into itunes once you synced with it unless you do something about it. Moreover, with each update of itunes, they will break the sync you made with your iphone/ipod with another software. They will do everything to make you use itunes instead of everything else.

Yes, android is not like the iphone's ecosystem.

another option to flash kernel besides Odin is to use SGS Kernel Flasher from Neldar.. can get it from market.. the beauty of it is u can backup/revert ur current kernel.. and much simpler procedure to flash.. just use the apps, locate the kernel form internal sd card and flash! for those who are having nightmares flashing using Odin, this app can help u.. but remember to use *.tar instead of *.zip

p/s: actually I can say Odin is also a simple task to do.. this app is safe for noobs to use

i'm not quite sure what you mean by breaking the sync between each update of itunes. this never happens to me.

even though i'm not here to decide which one of the platform is better but I can't deny the apple side has got better store ecosystem and economy. keeping everything under itunes supports the existence of the system where by people can buy songs, apps, books, podcast all controlled under 1 hood.

the convenience or freedom it's just the matter of preference. so far I finds that having too much freedom in android isn't appeal that much to certain developers and mass users.

Use ADB. Need some time to set it up first.

Meaning if you decide that you want to use another software to manage your media, the next update for itunes and iOS will break the sync support for that software. Apple will want to lock you into using Itunes.

The reason is very simple. Other software like winamp or banshee in Linux has their own music store or podcast. This scares apple to death. They want people to buy music from itunes (they make 30% cut from it), not from another music store.

Having a software that manages all your media, podcasts, ebooks and all that is very nice. However, when you are forced to use buggy itunes only, it is an disadvantage to consumer POV because they are restricted to one choice only.

That is a monopoly. I like a platform where competition is present because it will always spur better innovations.

I did it many times during eclair days. Saves the hassle of changing product code each time after flashing a rom.

Need to make /system folder writable (rw). Use sgstools or search to make /system folder writable by default in cwm if you use speedmod.

everytime there's mentioning of Apple, there'll be 2-3 pages arguing which one is better, time and time again. why don't create a new thread called, "APPLE VS ANDROID" ?
