G700 user reporting in.

btw, silver, the Performance Mouse MX™ and the Cordless Desktop® MX™ 5500 Revolution.

The mouse aren't the same.

Performance Mouse MX is wireless and doesn't have dual wheels. and Cordless Desktop® MX™ 5500 Revolution Mouse is bluetooth and have dual wheels, the only way to get 2 wheels mouse is by purchasing the Desktop Revolution pack.

high end wireless gaming mouse are Razer Mamba, Sidewinder X8, Logitech G700.

Price difference? Mamba RM4XX, Sidewinder X8 RM3XX, Logitech G700 RM230~270.

G700 Winrar, what about spec? they all are nearly the same. except sensor, which is sidewinder X8 uses their own bluetrack sensor. while G700 and Mamba both uses the same laser sensor.

Mamba spec more better because more expensive? try your luck and believe in that then.(Laser and Optical Sensor syncronized? i smell more problem rather than gives more advantage)

I use G700 and quality is top notch, which now, the G700 mouse is still my primary mouse.

We all always ask, Why pay more when we have a more better or on par alternative. UNLESS you want bragging rights

Example Scene
Person A : "LOOK I PAY RM4XX FOR A MOUSE, HARHARHAR"
Person B : *Think* "okay, you win your braggings rights, but i don't know how will people think about you"

Logitech G700 Mouse, Best bang for buck mouses with 5700 dpi max and hybrid system of wired/wireless. RM235, which you still have RM115 to spend on a good mousepad.

QUOTE(Savor_Savvy @ Jun 23 2011, 10:38 PM)
compared krait with m8000x, how's the size difference?
*
For size comparison, krait is ambidextrous and m8000x is right handed.

Shape, M8000X would be taller.

Size, M8000X will be slightly larger than krait.

i owned Gigabyte M8000 and Gigabyte M8000X, seriously these 2 mouse lack of quality, the mouse coating peeling after 3 month of usage, M8000 mouse wheel died after 1 month of usage, and M8000X firmware failure with button 1, left click function rendered useless everywhere, i bind macro the left button function to every key and it doesn't work.

Gigabyte mouse disappoints me the most.

QUOTE(lord_aminkin @ Jun 25 2011, 08:48 AM)
Since I found out their price is not far from each other, I need some advice to choose between Roccat Kone and Sidewinder X8. I like Kone for the design and lighting but technical X8 seems much better options. Or maybe there is better mouse you can recommends which not too far from RM250?

Any advice, recommendations is highly appreciated. Thanks smile.gif
*
G700, it is one of the best mouse i use so far.

Previous mouse i have used are, MX510, MX518, Roccat Kone, Razer deathadder, Gigabyte M8000, Gigabyte M8000X, Logitech G9, Sidewinder X 5

For best bang for bucks, i think G700 is the best if you compare in terms of price. for comfort is it also one of the best and easy to clean mouse compare to other mouse. plus the mouse is actually RM250 below.

wireless response are very responsive, they are instant. and there's no delay. i was quite surprise at first, because i brought the mouse because of the feature it offers me, buttons and mouse pooling rate, average-heavy weight mouse, and MACRO!, Not Wireless, because i am consider it is a plus, since wireless gaming grade mouse are expensive RM300+ above(sidewinder X8, and Razer Mamba) But i soon found out that i use wireless more frequently than wired.(i only use wired for charging and using at the same time, when it is full, i will use wireless back.)

Sanded surface provides better gripping and feels comfortable as well, thou starting when i saw the mouse, i was worry with the comfort issue, but to my surprise, the surface was really comfortable and easy to clean if you wanted to compare to Gigabyte gaming mouse series that have rubber grip with hole.

i personally hated rubber grip with holes because you can't clean them easily because all the skin waste will all stuck into the hole and requires you to use toothpick to clean one per one, esspecilly, there's about 80 holes to let you poke every each of them.

G700 doesn't have any cons, but you are picky, then i should have say first, the mouse have 2 things that might annoy you. one is the stiff cable, be aware that the cable(not braided) is much more thicker than other conventional mouse that you purchase. Second is Battery Life span varies upon what setting you choose for the mouse, they will last longer if DPI and pooling rate lower. so don't complain about low battery lifespan when you set everything to max such as 5000+ dpi and 1000mhz pooling rate. they could still last you a day or 2.

3rd is extra, the extra button is actually very very very useful once you learn to use them, these button are very well positioned and convenient to use, once you get used to the buttons and such. so consider them as extra. but they are very handy to use.

And Final, i pay for the mouse and i love it. and would like to get 2nd for traveling usage, i have recommended a lot of my friends, and they all brought it and love the mouse. you can ask one of them, username : Kahjye .

Imperator 4G or Logitech G700. If you can topup RM50+ then maybe you can get Xai.

definitely it is SS Xai, one of the Rolls-Royce of gaming mouse you can get in MY market.
*
I used to be roccat lover, but as soon as roccat gain fame in all over the world, they started to release overprice product such as Roccat Kone+, based on comparison price, feature Factor, the price we pay for RM350+ above for a mouse that has same spec and even have wireless feature that only cost RM250 below, Which would be better?

i don't like the fact that we pay premium price just for few bling bling LED, if that's the case, i rather pay premium price for durable product.

For users who pay premium price for bling bling LED feature, no offense made, please go ahead.

ss XAI

or

ss IKARI

help me decide plz~

if this both is your only option to select, i would recommend XAI. Well, ambidextrous design is really a plus.

QUOTE(lord_aminkin @ Jun 27 2011, 10:16 PM)
Ouch, this certainly a knock on the head for me. Was blinded by the LED features. G700 is certainly an amazing recommendation, thanks. But only concerned on the sweaty grip as me usually palm grip also the weight mentioned in the review probably gonna be tiring for those who use finger tips / claw.
*
Well, i have to agree on the tiring part, for those that use the mouse with finger tips/claw. a solution would be changing a smoother teflon feet and a teflon surface.

For Sweaty Grip, i would think every mouse suffer from this issue, just the matter of difference in serious or not serious. the mouse sand texture actually absorbs the sweat in the gap of the sanded texture, frequent wiping with cloth would be pro long the mouse surface, since our sweat got acid tongue.gif

For Cleanliness, i really the mouse for this fact, because you don't get all the skin watse on the mouse and becomes a pile of chocolate thingie there that requires you so wipe it off, thanks to the sanded surface. and also the fact the mouse is black, since last time i drop my jaw when i saw my friend use chap ayam white color mouse, but the chocolate thing skin waste... FULANEHHH!!

if your budget allow XAI, get Xai instead, if your budget not allow XAI, get Ikari. simple tongue.gif

still remember the good old days when we get free Xai's after beating that FMJ guy at PC Fair.
*
i would think that Play Interactive are not as aggressive as previous. They only focus on area outside of heavy competitive market area.

but are you sure it is priced similar to MX518?
the US pre-order prise is 49.99 sweat.gif http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming/mice-...ming-mouse-g400
impossible to be around RM100 bucks.
*
it is possible because the fact that you see, G700 was price USD99 at foreign website, yet the mouse only cost RM235 in Malaysia, Logitech makes me feel good that i live in malaysia LOL

i know its sounds contradicting but i guess the new mouse would last me another few years, so i want to do my homework before purchasing the new one. but i came across some article regarding wireless do slowdown performance some times, that's why i am having dillema right now. either g700 or imperator, both having the same price range.
*
i don't know what do you mean with slowdown performance, but i didn't face any issue with my G700, you can also go with wired mode, since it's hybrid, you can choose wired or wireless just by removing wire and attaching wire. that simple.

maybe you can wait for feedbacks from G700 users like Cyclonechuah.

imho, just stick to your MX518 unless it bricked on you. Or you can wait for it's successor, G400 which I believe should be coming by this month?
well, i actually worried about mouse pointer bug when i first thinking about buying G700, since it's feature it offers and awesome price, i was worried if i grab the mouse and face alot of issue.

to my surprise, i never face any issue that people were talking about.

one of the issue of the mouse that people were talking about last time when i research the mouse is that, "mouse are unable to move pixel per pixel and would skip. and unable to do precise movement"

But i never seen such problem occurs to my mouse, so i would think this is majorly sensor problem. if you did face this problem. firmware aren't gonna fix you, warranty change is the way to go.

A replacement product that is even cheaper than the previous model makes me wonder that where did they cut cost from? Yet this is their best selling entry gaming mouse, or even the best for that price range in the market, the only logical thing to do is to further increase the price or at least maintain it, more so when you have a few hardware improvements inside.

Maybe the simple design or change in mouse surface material? hmm.gif
*
because current G400 sensor that it provided is not considered to be mid-high end sensor anymore. if you based on how long has MX518 is release years ago with his sensor(high end sensor at the time where MX518 released, but years has pass and price kept dropping)

another 2 reason could be that they didn't redesign the whole exterior, so molding cost could be save just by reusing MX518 Molding.(making new molding is very expensive)

this could also leads to mass production just by using MX518 production line. i would have to say it is cost effective.

For people that is concern about delay, you don't even have delay even you set it to have 125hz pooling rate.

Well, lower pooling rate prolongs battery life.

They are using 2.4ghz wireless technology. =/

that is roccat apuri (search for clearer picture to get the whole meaning of the use) , it main thing is not the USB hub but the mouse bungee, i always have problem of the mouse wire falling of the table and then weighing down my mouse, or the wire just in the way of my mouse movement, with that thing you snape the wire on top of it, and it will make sure the wire will not in your mouse way or disturb you in any reason
UK g700 came with enelope battery when you buy it ( saw it in one of the video in youtube, coincidental the guy is enelope battery freak) , but for some reason malaysia give enetime... so yeah im sure you can charge inside the mouse, will try to charge some other rechargable battery inside it see if it explode  tongue.gif
*
if you're thinking about getting better battery life on G700, i suggest you get eneloop, eneloop battery are well fame for it's battery performance. i've been thinking about getting one myself.

grabbing 2x AA Eneloop battery will last me like few years mostly. =/

Added : Perhaps, it is also possible that this mouse was this cheap because they change to enetime battery to lower the price of the mouse. well, i don't mind having enitime, but i can still choose better battery if i need to =/
