First of all, I would like to apologize for the pics as I have taken them with my camphone.


I'm reviewing Nendoroid Kuroneko from the light novel turned anime Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai(or OreImo for short). In it Kuroneko is the friend(to use the term loosely) of the titular imouto(or in English; litle sister), Kirino Kousaka which was also made into a Nendoroid.

Let's start the review with a view of the box.


The design in similar to Kirino, being that they are from the same anime. Other than that, it's just your standard Nendoroid box design.


Here's what you get inside; 1 body with face, arms and legs, 2 other faces, a blank cover book, 2 bended arms with open hand, 1 bended arm with a closed fist, 1 straight arm with pointed finger, 4 other hands, 2 bended legs, a cat ears headband and cat tail. And not pictured, a stand to pose Kuroneko. The stand works really well, wedged between the pannier Kuroneko wore, also not pictured.

And a sticker for her book.

Featuring her favourite anime, Maschera. Also has stickers for Kirino's DVD I guess since Kuroneko has no DVD of her own included.


This is how Kuroneko looks like out of the box with her normal (or "normal humans are boring") face and standard straight arms. Kuroneko has a lot of details in her costume and it is perfectly translated to Nendoroid form. Her jacket is even a different piece showing more details than is possible if it was a single mold(like the Kirino Nendoroid with her scarf molded to her shirt).


Kuroneko with another of her face plate with the 2 bended arms with open hand. The hands are removable and the arms actually can swivel horizontally on the elbow. It's not super movable but they at least give you the option for some pose.


The other face with the other set of arms. I guess this would be the pose Kuroneko would use to curse someone(Kirino) with her "Dark Powers" or simply to show someone(Kirino) off. The face could be stronger as her brows is obscured by her hair. The bended arm is at a different angle than the other two and is fixed. Hands are removable.


The cat ears head band, cat tail, 2 closed hand and one of the bent legs are used to recreate a scene from the anime.
The head band is wedged between the 2 piece of hair and so can't be worn by other Nendoroids. The tail is attached by replacing the ribbon on the back of Kuroneko(much better idea than attaching it to the stand like the Hermione Hayate Nendoroid). The bent leg is not really apparent because of the length of the skirt.



Kuroneko is a very good Nendoroid. Nice detailing and cute as well.
The parts can't be shared between other Nendoroid but Kuroneko is fun enough to be played on her own.
