Hi folks, I've been looking for AV and planning to get Kaspersky.
Is it good? If there any better AV please list it down.

Avast! with proprietary license is also another good consideration.

Kaspersky is quite ineffective IMHO, since I've seen it being used on many computers. It detects and remove viruses but some of them will still remain(on flash drives, for example). Plus, the sound effect for removing infections are annoying.

avast 6 is pretty good. There is this application sandbox which is a bit annoying at first but the added security is good.

It seems that you are willing to pay hence, you can check out the website that list down the top ten antivirus
http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/

However, if you are looking for a free AV, i can recommend Avast antivirus. I've got a review there.

MSE, or avira, both of them are light to the system
