a M&E consultantcy firm's director once advise me on this.
he himself says it's better to have multiple units rather than multi-split.
energy wise, he says more or less the same.
but performance and cost, multiple units better.
he even tell me to go for 2 units of 1HP rather than 1 unit of 2HP next time.
