It can be done, but very troublesome so I'll pass~
I've no intention of removing it, I almost never use the batteries anyway laugh.gif
So far still okay, managed to squeeze 4 hours out of my power hungry monster thumbup.gif

if dun1 use batteries, how u do it?
*
I meant I've never really run the laptop on batteries nod.gif
I often have the laptop connected to power sockets...
The batteries can be manually removed by opening up the chassis..

i assume u never move ur laptops lolx
*
Neh, I move it around ALOT. Home to Institute vice versa laugh.gif
Just that I don't use it on battery
LOL, just realised we've gone WAY off topic... sorry bout that...

The M14x doesn't have a lot of vents at the bottom, so as of now, I'm still not sure whether the U2 works effectively for it or not hmm.gif
But what I do know is that the usage of SSD instead of HDD will decrease the temps by alot nod.gif

hmm,so does a normally the laptop will slide down on U2/U3? i mean not with the dell 9cell battery, with normal flat 6 cell battery?
*
It won't (referring to XPS15) nod.gif
The 15 incher is large enough that the rubber will hold it in place

Not exactly slide down, the U2/U3 got some rubber for the notebook to hold itself..
*
Depends on models one sad.gif
My gf's M500 still slides, because of the not-so-strategic "legs" at the bottom of the laptop sweat.gif sweat.gif

so it cant fix the 14.1"? mind to explain a bit?  tongue.gif
my 7 years old twinhead is ancient...
*
It can't because the M500 has two rubber legs which will fall directly on the rubberized surface of the CM U2, which is why it'll slide lol laugh.gif

Guys, what's the program you all use to check temp? I kind of lazy to find back from cooling thread(other thread)
*
Open Hardware Monitor (as suggested by lee_what sifu) laugh.gif
Nice program, since the previous Hwmonitor couldn't detect the GPUs on my laptop... not sure why, maybe its because of the dual GPU configurations of something hmm.gif

weird..u3`s fan should be detachable mah... smile.gif

True, but if the bottom of the laptop doesn't have any vents at all, then there's no real point in having those fans right? hehe laugh.gif

let the cover open mean need to remove the dust more frequently rite?
but i want mu lappy cool also..

already trying using diy cooler but not so much  different with the temp because hdd cover did not have any hole to let the fan blow the air straight to the hdd...

sad.gif sad.gif
*
Yeap, the more the dust accumulate, the poorer the cooling... and who knows them dust might even affect the inner components as well sad.gif
There's actually not much to do, just do all the things required (change better thermal paste, cooler pad, regular maintenance etc.), or buy an aircon haha doh.gif
