For some reason, there are many great iPad apps that are not sold/available in the Malaysia AppStore. I recently registered in the US AppStore to download the free GoogleEarth app. It is such a joy to use GoogleEarth on the iPad. Are there any other great apps that are not available in the Malaysia AppStore? Do share.

Why is there a different? Are those app illegal in here?

there's always going to be a difference in titles available between geographically different iTunes Store and App Store.

Legality aside, this is why more people opted to create a US iTunes account to compensate the deficiency.

Not sure of other free great apps that are limited to US iTunes Store, but I'm sure googling can help

Even if you have the Netflix app using your US account, it will be useless as you need to be a Netflix subscriber, which you can't since they will require you to have not only a US address but also a US credit card.

Interesting I didn't know this as I was using my Ipad bought from the US all the time (but I'm thinking of selling it at the moment since I can easily buy another one when I'm back there).
Is there any other apps that aren't working? Have you guys tried registering a US app account from Malaysia?

I almost bought it last time when it was on sale for EUR 0.79 .....thankfully didn't bought it that time it's gone free for the first time too. [both iphone and ipad version]

Kindle is another one lorh, same as on android.

I'm using us account for my iPad. N yes.. I'm using it in Malaysia. Apps store are awesome... The only cons is I need to top up my credit using iTunes gc instead of credit card....

Hi, guy, yesterday i try to open a US itune account. But they need cc or paypal account. So i cannot open it. How you guy do it. I had follow the instruction posted, but now they don't show none in the payment selection.

open a new the us Account from your iPad open app store, create new account, change the country, fill in the details, select payment as none, verify your account via the email sent by Apple, done.

Anyway, you have to create a new account within iTunes. You cannot do it from the browser, and you cannot do it from iPad AppStore. And you cannot do it with existing account.

IIRC, you buy a free app (make sure you are not logged in), then create a new US account. Only at that point will you see the "None" option. Nowhere else you'll see the "None" option.

I tried creating a US itunes account as suggested above. Was able to select none as payment method when creating the account on my ipad2 however got stuck at the address. Did you guys provided a valid us address? or any work around?

Just put any US address. Google some US address and key that address in.
