sadly, petrol rebate for citibank cash back is only capped at rm30/month.
their monthly cash rebate is rm50 rite?  (sory bit out of topic atm)
Yes. Petrol cash back is capped at only RM30/month while grocery purchases are capped at RM60/month. For all others, the cash back is unlimited. The major downside of the Citibank Cash Back VISA Platinum is that the cash back earned will only be credited back into your account on the next statement after you've reached at least RM50 of cash back shakehead.gif

I encountered the other way round last week. My intention was to purchase normal coffee and free normal coffee.

But was told that the promotion is only for Frappucino. End up I paid for the Frappucino and get the free normal coffee.

Context: Agoda 6% off promotion

So the 6% discount promotion doesn't apply to AMEX? I was hoping to get 6% + 5% discount + 5xTPs
Unfortunately no. It's only for Maybank VISA and MasterCard and this offer is ending at the end of this month.

QUOTE(wshoh @ Jul 25 2011, 12:56 PM)
Was at Starbucks @ Centro Mall in Klang on Sat, 23/7/2011. Barista informed me that they received an email stating that the AMEX Buy 1 Free 1 promo will be discontinued - 1/8/2011 will be the last day and not 31/10/2011. Apparently, there is some 'issue' with MBB. Perhaps a forum member can verify this?
If it is true, only 1 more week from now sad.gif
Checked the MBB website American Express promos) and indeed the offer is no longer published.
Due to overwhelmed response i suppose. May be they have come to realiazation that just how frequent their AMEX card holders are going to Starbucks and they are posting huge losses on this promotion sweat.gif

I received a reply from Maybank yesterday. Regarding the problem i faced at a Starbucks outlet here in KK with the AMEX complimentary beverage promotion. They said they have forwarded my queries to AMEX and my queries shall be answered soon.

called customer service, told me there will be extra charges (1.5%) - Visa & (2.5%) - AMEX if I using c.card oversea. correct?
Wrong! Should be 0.5% for VISA & MasterCard, 3% for all AMEX.

This is for all kind of spending? like clothes boutique and so on?

and all sifu here,

what's the diff between mbb 2 cards gold and platinum, in term of promotion and deals? Dun think the below concerned me.
and also...from maybank site, online redemption for treat points, why alot vouchers also is redeemable via mastercard/visa points..and not amex? so 5x treat points amex is not really useful?  rclxub.gif
If you have the Maybankard 2 Cards, just key in the numbers of your MBB2 VISA or MBB2 MasterCard when making redemption online. They will deduct the TP from your MBB2 AMEX if there isn't enough TP in your MBB2 VISA/MasterCard. Done this three times to date smile.gif

Vincent Tan should be happy because more sales volume for them.
I believe even if it is buy 1 free 1 promotion, Maybank is absorbing the costs for us.
I don't think Starbucks is so generous. laugh.gif
So basically Maybank is the one can't take it anymore. tongue.gif
Totally agree with you. It won't be Vincent Tan paying for all the free drinks we got in the past few months. Maybank was the one footing the bills. The joy was cut short but still, thank you Maybank smile.gif

On the other hand, can any of you please confirm once again that the 5% weekend cash rebate for MBB2 AMEX is based on posting date or transaction date ? I'm talking about those transactions made overseas because i am already sure that for those transactions made locally, it is based on the transaction date. I just checked my M2U and i did not get the 5% rebate for the purchases i made on 30 July & 31 July in Bangkok. To add insult to injury, the exchange rate was high vmad.gif

A sharing from me.

I calculated my M2Kard Amex cash back for the month of July and noticed 1 of the transaction is not counted into the cashback and I called up CS to ask about it.

Transaction made on 30th July [Saturday] and the transaction gets posted on 1st Aug [Monday]

According to the CS, he says is based on transaction date but since the merchant only claim from the bank on 1st Aug, that is the reason the cash back is not counted. And the cashback for this transaction will only be credited into my account in the month of Aug.

I am wondering is this possible? Shall look at my account next month whether it will be calculated or not.  rclxub.gif
I face exactly the same problem. I kind of doubt what the CS told you because if my memory serves me correctly, it happened to me before that the transaction date was on a weekend but only posted on Monday but i did get the 5% weekend cash rebate by the end of the month.

No. They don't. It happened to me before and i got the 5% weekend rebate. It was for a MAS ticket if my memory serves me correctly.

let say if we clear off the minimum payment paying the rm25, will we still be charged for 1% interest for the remaining balance daily?
Of course the remaining unpaid balance will be charged interest or else everyone will just be paying the minimum.

I received a reply from Maybank this morning regarding the MBB2 AMEX 5% weekend cash back. See below :

Anyway, i don't get what they mean here > Nevertheless, if the 30th or 31st (weekend), the cash back for the said transaction is based the posting date and it will calculate for the next month cash back.

Seriously, this is not fair. How are we supposed to know when the payments made during weekends are going to be posted into the system ? And why a different rule for weekend falls on the last day of the month ? rclxub.gif doh.gif

Hmm, the rebates for transactions made on the last day of the month (weekend) will be given next month, unless the merchant post it on the same day.
I think the Maybank CS replied my email was trying to say that if the posting date is on the same day, the cash back will be carried forward to the next month. However, if the posting date is a day or two after the transaction date (in my case which was on Monday and Tuesday respectively), i get nothing! cry.gif vmad.gif

QUOTE(tifosi @ Aug 10 2011, 03:16 PM)
If the transaction is done on 30th and 31st July, but the posting date is after the 1st Aug, the rebate for that will go into 1st September. Reason because they wont be able to give the rebate if the merchant had not post the transaction into the system. The rebate is still be given, just the different month only. It maybe slightly unfair for those who usually max out their rebate but this is how it works.
I just receive a reply from them and you are right! They are very fast in answering my queries this time around. Less than half an hour only rclxms.gif
