Both are simulation at certain extent. If you're bothered with license, real kit, real-life commentator and fancy-name new feature (Personality +, Impact Engine, Vision Wheel etc.) FIFA is your choice. PES can't do anything about license since EA own exclusive rights for some top european league and club especially Bundesliga. But if you're looking for real challenging AI, in-depth tactical and player selection (player condition and tactical formation play great role in PES) and better career mode; go for PES 2012. Demo for Xbox for both game supposed to be out in this mid September. I have played PES 12 preview demo extensively on PC and i can say the hardest difficulty has set new bar in football simulation, not only me but those who used to hate PES 08 - 11 to certain extent also think the same. Go to Pesfan forum if you didn't believe me, although it is official Pes fan site but users there are far from fanboy or bias, they has been very critical toward PES since next-gen console era. Now i'm waiting for FIFA 12 demo before handing any judgment. But don't worry, both games supposed to be simulation. But as i said before, to 'certain extent'. They're not perfect football simulation but they both are good in their respective area. One more thing, about online play; both game has problem with cheater and lagger. I can't say about FIFA 11 because i don't play online but PES 2011 online has been infested with cheater and quitter. I don't know whether PES 2012 will implement some new hacking prevention feature or not.
