how much you bought eee pad without the dock? is there any discount? or we have to pay full RRP ala apple product?
i'm selling my ipad2 and planning to buy eee pad or other honeycomb tablet soon.

i have played with xoom, iconia and transformer

my verdict is transformer is the best out of three tablets i have played with.

the screen panel is much better on transformer than iconia and xoom.

the eee pad looks like my notebook  but the function is less than my notebook..i cant do office work efficiently with eee pad like my notebook.

i'm still looking for reason to get this

tablet is never meant to be a notebook replacement.
if anything it is a complement to our notebook/PC.

i don't plan to buy the dock and i think only mouse is important since some functions on website required the usage of a mouse in order for it to work properly.

namely cropping photo in facebook. tongue.gif

i was wondering wat makes asus TF so special? i love it, but i was wondering wat is the different with TF compared to other tablet?i mean, if u say about it can attached to its keyboard, i thought most other tablets can do that is it n they hav their own physical keyboard am i right? soguys do explain why this TF is outstanding compared to others..  notworthy.gif  innocent.gif

it depends on your usage pattern and what you need.

people who like to root and customized their device may choose tablet with most support from developer.

hardware quality also can differentiate the tablet, not to mention the ports offered on the tablets.

honestly, TF is nothing special as a tablet. it is like any other tablet out there.

the TF stands out when it is wit the dock -- which is why its also called Transformer. the dock is specially designed for the tablet and what makes the dock really useful is the fact that it is also a battery pack -- the TF101 with dock can last abt 16hrs. the keyboard also comes with special keys that makes the tablet even easier to use.

so far, usually the additional keyboard for other tablets dun have the extended battery function.
so honestly, if you dun plan to get the dock... any other 10" tablet should be very much the same...
*
no they're not the same.
android tablets don't have exact same hardware.

and developer support also very important to me since i like to root my device.

I can vouch for Huddle/YES. It's much better than 3G service if you are in the covered area. Even if you have red(bad signal) it's at least 1Mbps. If Green, can achieve 10Mbps. Ping is also better than 3G, even usable to play Dota (flying spaghetti monster).
*
i concur, i hope they maintain the service and keep on improving the coverage area.

That is why I didn't get transformer as I no need the dock. I felt buying it without dock seems like buying a handicapped tablet. Of couse it is not handicapped just a phschological feeling. At the end I bought the iconia as it comes buiktin full usb and 32gb for similar  price as eeepad tablet.  You can consider the iconia a understated , poor publicized tablet but performs great and that's what matter most. You don't have to be well known to be great.
*
so iconia comes with 32GB internally?
how about the battery life?

with full USB i admit iconia has the edge over TF without the dock and with patch, it can connect to 3G via some huawei 3G usb modem according to XDA.
but in terms of screen panel i prefer TF.

still deciding which honeycomb tablet to buy. unsure.gif

You should try yourself the various tablets ; by now I am sure most KL big outlets will have demo units. By than you should be able to make a good decision basing on your needs. One thing for sure, buying the EEEpad you can get lots of support and help here - better than Asus facebook or its support pages.

I make my decision after trying the xoom, eeepad and iconia at Challenger Store ( Spore ). I like testing stuffs at Challenger as they laid out all the tablets , totaling about 10 different types ( Viewsonic, Archos, China made, Motorola, Asus, Acer, Ipad, ipad2  etc ) out on a big table. You can spend time testing on all of it ; no one will come and disturb you unlike some KL stores, just only a few minutes touching it,  you will see the salesman overlooking your shoulder and trying to convince you to buy. I don't know what is the scenario at KL new Challenger store - hopefully is the same
Similarly you can test all the latest notebooks, smartphones etc - a indeed conducive environment to test gadgets.

i don't see any tablets in challenger klcc.

I search around other countries forums mostly them recommend a500 than tf101,but y malaysia and singapore here seem tf101 receiving higher attention?

it terms of value for money yes iconia is better with all the ports readily on the tablet but the reason i chose tf101 over iconia because of the IPS panel.

if i'm not mistaken iconia even has better type of RAM according to one of the review i read.
