if what you mean is some older apps that only show on a small portion of the screen, nope you cant do anything about it except hope the author comes up with a version that supports tablets.

i think he means some games get stretched to full screen and thus, the images become blurred.

i know some games are like that... they were meant for small screens. i dun think we can do much about them -- have to wait until the dev work on a higher-res version...

If you're rooted and want to modify your transformer's dock layout, check out this news report:

well that means screen ratio issue, by right games should be optimized for 16:9, should not have any issues since even smartphones are 16:9/16:10..guess the game developer didnt do a good job tongue.gif

Read a lot of bad reviews about Evernew. Seems they don't care after money changed hands. Someone also reported them to Consumer Tribunal after holding his case for a month.
*
i won't really say they are that bad... but just that different people at different times get different treatment.

as for dun care... again, based on my experience with them... its not they dun care... but they were being upfront -- if i claim anything thru them, it would take longer coz they go by batches... meaning compile all problematic items (be it notebook or tablets, etc) and then send one-shot to asus. this can be once a week or so.

again on my own experience... during the launch... the extra guys they had at the shop were knowledgeable. after that... when i went to collect my dock... some of the guys at the shop dun really know the product. so it was hard for me to ask them anything 'technical'.

but at times, they were bordering on being 'unethical'. one example is... the 'free leather case' that came with the TF. on launch day, we were told it costs rm199. in actual fact, they were selling it later at only rm99.

i suspect some of these developers were using low-res images. on smaller screen, you can't tell the diff... but when its exploded onto the big screen, you can start to see the images are not sharp. i think partly this has to do with making the package small. since tablets came into the picture only recently, developers din not anticipate that using low res would be a bad idea... smile.gif

Yes you're right on that, the smaller images were used probably to save space as well and to reduce the overall package/content size. in any case, nothing that any of us can do about it. Even on the ipad, playing iphone games and scaling it upwards would result in very heavy pixelation.

most shops should sell it like in digital mall or lowyat. stock availability is anyone's guess. best to call the shops before you go or if you prefer just go to lowyat / digital mall and ask around. good luck.

Hey all,
I have a problem of connecting the Asus Transformer to my Nokia N8's JoikuSpot hotspot.

It worked with my iPad 2, but the Asus Transformer cannot seem to detect the signal. Anyone encounter similar problem?

Added on June 30, 2011, 10:39 amArgh. Nevermind. Just found out that Android Honeycomb does not support Ad-Hoc connectivity. Lame. doh.gif

i was using magnus, it's not bad, just for fun flash to 1.5, i feel like prime is smoother then magnus.. maybe it's just me lar biggrin.gif
actually it's just using some of the 8.4.4.7 firmware feature add on, basically a mix of 8.4.4.5 and 8.4.4.7, and by default apply the ad-hoc wifi patch, along with some other minor feature additions.. if u already have those don bother lol...

what about kernal? what kernal u using? i now using clemsyn v15, i tried the super elite kernal before, went restart when i try run big bang racing when i push to 1.7Ghz... last night wasnt free to try again, maybe tonight i try again with v16

OK let's not consider rooting since I am a newbie at Android. I want to avoid it as much as possible.

So, what about tethering via Bluetooth? I can pair the device with a Blackberry bluetooth but not sure how to let the Transformer access Internet. Any tips?

Test Report:

Did a test video call between TF101 and GalaxyTab7
- used Fring and Qik

Everything is fine on Tab but not on TF101.
- Qik crashed
- Fring (g-sensor not working, and i looked at myself upside down + small thumbnail vid for myself is missing sometimes)

Anyone has the same result?

i was a newbie when i got my TF also, really never used any android device before... but u can just learn by exploring. rooting is not hard at all, in fact, it's quite easy now with nvflash method. connect ur TF to ur PC, boot in APX mode(hold power + up volume button), install the driver for it, run 1-2 batch file, reboot, and there, rooted. whole process takes less then 5 minutes

Added on June 30, 2011, 11:43 amalso, there's no worrying about bricking our device, there are ppl already posted a very easy unbricking method on xda forum, same like how u root only, just a different file

rooting doesn't take into account if you are newbie or not cuz it is made very simple nowadays, but its your choice smile.gif , just go read about 'nvflash + transformer' for a bit of confident boost wink.gif

TF does support Bluetooth tethering with compatible device, you can go ahead and try with your BB. Pair them up and check out the internet settings in the TF's BT settings. If successfully done, you will have 2 BT icon at the bottom right of your TF. 1 icon is your normal BT icon when u turn on BT, the other 1 is the BT icon showing its tethering internet.

I'm on Prime 1.5+netformer 1.5. No overclock.
I can feel everything is smoother.
Dolphin browser does crash a couple of times, but it doesn't crash as much as when I was on Prime 1.4.

The Transformer is not mine hence the reason I don't plan of rooting. Plus, the owner of the Transformer is not even tech savvy and I seriously doubt he has time to spend rooting.

Anyway, I tried the BlackBerry connect to Transformer via Bluetooth but somehow cannot get the network running. I can see "paired but not connected".

Under Bluetooth setting on the Transformer, I do not see any additional setting under Profiles.
