Hi, would like to ask few questions:

http://www.hasil.gov.my/goindex.php?kump=5...3&unit=1&sequ=1

No. 20 - Life insurance dan EPF - 6000 (limited)
Meaning it is the total amount of life insurance I buy for the year, plus total EPF both me and my employer contributed?
*
Not exactly , its life insurance and your EPF contribution NOT INCUDING the employer's portion

Does CFA included?

Nope

I have Endowment, Personal Accident and Medical Card, how do I categorized them?

Endowment = Life insurance

P A = not deductable

Medical card = medical insurance.

What is the criteria for this?

Personal relief = Automatically given

So prescription. If doc prescribe vit c/ glucosamine etc for a medical condition, and these items are available OTC, is it claimable?

Obviously doc will charge higher price for similar or sometimes lower dosage items. So for follow up consumption, we buy from pharmacy.
*
Vitamins maybe but do you think any self respecting doctor will prescribe glucosamine, garlic pills , primrose, tongkat ali or any of the alternative/herbal medication?

In my EA form (2011), I don't understand Category F. It mentioned about "tunggakan" from 2010 where there's value for "arrears payment" and "PCB".

Do I need to declare this as well in my 2011 filing?
*
Yes declare it at part G on page 5 in BE 2011

Hi all... am filling up my e-BE now... have a question regarding director's fee

i was only paid the director fee for 2009 and 2010 last year... PCB have also been deducted

sud i fill it in

a) Income Of Preceding Years Not Declared

or

b) Statutory Income and Total Income -> Employment
*
Director fees is taxable on year received. So if fees for 2009 only paid in 2010, its considered 2010 income not as arrears.

QUOTE(Izac Yeoh @ Mar 26 2012, 05:29 PM)
Unfortunately, no. Sport equipment eligible for relief are those with short life span such as shuttercock.

QUOTE(Izac Yeoh @ Mar 27 2012, 12:19 PM)
For those have long life span, yes, you cannot claim.
Guide in the LHDN DOES NOT EXclude equipment with long life span but intentionly INCLUDES those with short life span.

I have signed the S&P agreement on July 2009, I am currently staying in the house, BUT the house still not under my name yet. It is still under progress to transfer the house/title to my name, so it is consider I am renting the house from the owner.

In this case, do I entitle for this tax relief?
*
Relief is for interest paid on housing loan. Your senario is not logical if property is still under name of previous owner how come you have loan to service at same time pay rent? hmm.gif Wah you pay purchase price to owner and still have to pay rent. Do you want to buy my house? nod.gif

For business (sole proprietorship), upon reaching aggregate income, is it possible to deduct business loss from my employment income? Some says can other begs to differ as employment income has to be independent, unlike other income frm rental, dividend and interest can be use to offset the business loss.
*
Only for current year business loss(adjusted), it can be used to offset ANY current year income.

Hi All, need your professional advise on the following:

1) medical for parents - my mother in law sis immobility (leg handicap) and suffer brain cancer, due to all her children are working, thus my husband hired cambodian maid to take care of her, can it be entitle for RM5000 max relief (cambodian maid salary)?

very confused, some said can be claim, some said cannot.

2) Purchase of book - if i purchase book in oversea, can it be entitle for RM1000 max relief?

3) Purchase of sport equipment - purchase golf ball, golf set (golf club), badminton racket, badminton shuttlecock, can it be entitle for RM300 max relief?

4) medical examination expenses - if i purchase blood test package at pathlab or bp lab, can it be entitle for RM500 max relief?
*
1. Yes if your husband is doing the claim and can be verified by medical practitioner. YOU cannot claim for mother in law.

2, Yes

3. All in your list =yes

4. No. Only FULL medical examination. Don't think blood test only can be considered FULL medical exam.

Hi, I've wrote an email to LHDN since 20th March 2012 to inquire about 'penyakit yang sukar diubati'. However until to date, there is no reply from them.

May I know what is the turn around time for them to response?

Thanks a lot.

*
You filled correctly(if you are using eFiling). The tax rate is 25%. There should be no difference in the keyed in field with the computed field for 2011.

Hi all,
How do we know the total RM of mortgage interest paid for the particular year? Do we check with bank or calculate ourselves? Pls help.
*
Refer to your bank loan statement. Own calculation not valid as third party confirmation is best.

Yes. That's why I said tax relief, not rebate. This is supposed to be a new category right? Not the existing one coz the new one stated that donation to religious body i.e. temple etc. Let me look for the newsclip and post here later.
*
Yes but the religious body - temple/church have to apply for the tax exemption.
This is not a new category but a relaxation of the current rules.
Else each individual donor have to apply to MOF for each individual donation for the exemption.

Nwesclip ? Just good for headlines lacking in depth and analysis.
