guys,

just got 2 letters asking me to pay the extra tax i owed them, which im very puzzled, does that means im under audit ?

as in the letter, it just gave the calculation and states the amount im owing them, but the calculation is wrong, from the beginning as in the 'income' is not the correct figure..

can can i confirm, 2008 tax return id for earnings in 2008, right ?

??? rclxub.gif  Why do you need SSPN statement? Reference to your passbook should be sufficient.

Is there such thing as a SSPN passbook ? Mind my ignorance

Interesting issue. I don't have passbooks for my 3 kids SSPN either. I just claimed what I put in there for my tax claims. I have the SSPN receipts as proof.

Or is there something I still need?

Thanks.

P/S  I have not received a single annual SSPN statement after 3 years! Has anyone received one yet? What kind of deposit is this?
*
You are suppose to keep the "SSPN penyata pelepasan cukai " which you can download as PDF/print online
You better check your mailing address.

For GE, they'll mail the annual statement to your doorstep.

Not sure about other providers.
*
Prudential also send a special document for Income Tax relief claims ... you can even request via FAX thru IVR.
It clearly states how much for Life Insurance vs Medical/Education Insurance. Very straightforward unlike the confusing GE statement

You used the term "this year's income tax" .... when you actually meant last year's income tax doh.gif

From 1 March to 30 April 2013, we self-assess for Income Tax for Year 2012
From 1 March to 30 April 2014, we self-assess for Income Tax for Year 2013

'

u're wrong bro.

I can claim both sum up  Medical Insurance Premium + Medical/Life Insurance up to rm3k max for catergory ""Insurans pendidikan dan perubatan"

The question now is whether should I take 154.66 OR 154.66 x 60% only.
*
It's up to you.... I rather be safe than sorry by claiming the RM1300.64

Why is there a need to have this line: "Medical/Life Insurance Premium" in the GE statement
