Hi all, I just started work last year and my job tenure hasn't reached 1 year yet. Do I still need to report for income tax as well? My annual income is not more than the stipulated taxable annual income.

Anyone mind telling me the procedures here? Thanks!

Do you have PCB deduction listed in your salary slip.
IF none, then you do not need to open Income Tax file just yet

Just find out from your HR to see if they have open an income tax file for you. If not you have to ask them to do so or u just to to IRB to get it done.
Altho u have not work for complete yr you still need to declare your income for YA2011(jan11 to dec11)

Does anyone remember/know when does e-filing opens up for the current year?

Especially for form Borang E (non-individual) which is due end of march.

If not then I'll have to go LHDN to submit. aihh. yawn.gif

I have submitted in the past, parent's pharmacy bills (from pharmacy inside hospital, as well as prescription medication from non-hospital pharmacies).

Thanks Traveler. Not only I heard about medical bills, but also nutritious food like bird's nest can be submitted for claims as well - basically anything related to parents. Anyone can correct me, do let me know.

Are you about supplement, nutritious and health products can be claimed? I thought purely medication, prescription, surgery and consultation are eligible for claim.

Although it's 2010 but I don;t think there were major changes for 2011

So prescription. If doc prescribe vit c/ glucosamine etc for a medical condition, and these items are available OTC, is it claimable?

Obviously doc will charge higher price for similar or sometimes lower dosage items. So for follow up consumption, we buy from pharmacy.

Vitamins maybe but do you think any self respecting doctor will prescribe glucosamine, garlic pills , primrose, tongkat ali or any of the alternative/herbal medication?

I just received CP500 from LHDN today. Inside they aggregate the same amount as last year for 2012 tax. They separate it into 6 installments for me to pay.

Question is can I pay together at one lump sum? Since for example the tax they aggregated is RM 2,500 so if my tax for this year is RM 2,750 so I would have to pay RM 250 more at the end of this year? hmm.gif
